Reporting directly to our Head of Data Enablement, the Data Management Lead is responsible for establishing, embedding, and evolving enterprise data management practices across Latitude. This role leads initiatives that ensure data is well-governed, high quality, and managed in alignment with business, regulatory, and operational requirements. Working closely with data owners, stewards, and technology teams, the role drives accountability, governance integration, and continuous improvement in the management of data assets.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
- Implement and Evolve Data Management Practices: Lead the design and implementation of metadata management, data lineage, cataloguing, and master data management (MDM) practices across the enterprise.
- Operationalise Data Governance: Embed data governance and stewardship principles into day-to-day business processes and operational technology platforms.
- Ensure Compliance and Lifecycle Oversight: Champion regulatory and internal policy compliance for data usage, retention, and lifecycle management.
- Improve Data Quality and Trust: Establish and track KPIs to drive measurable improvements in data quality, availability, and business trust in key data assets.
- Stewardship and Ownership Engagement: Work with data owners and experts to clearly define roles and responsibilities and ensure active stewardship and accountability.
- Perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time
- Drive collaboration across domains by embedding shared governance and stewardship frameworks that support the new operating model.
- Align metadata, lineage, and data quality practices across Data in the Latitude community to ensure consistent standards and enterprise-wide transparency.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of metadata, lineage, MDM, cataloguing, and data lifecycle management.
- Experience operationalising governance frameworks within business and technology environments.
- Proven ability to drive enterprise data quality initiatives with measurable outcomes.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCCFA, APRA).
- Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills across business, risk, and technology teams.
