About the Team
We are the Life & Health (L&H) Data & Analytics group at Swiss Re Reinsurance. As a strategic tech partner, we modernize our L&H data landscape and build innovative analytics solutions. Our global, cross-functional team uses data to help the business make smarter, data-driven decisions—supporting both existing products and new analytics initiatives.
Role Overview
As a Data Product Manager I, you will help bridge business needs and technical delivery. Collaboration with engineers and business stakeholders will be required to define, test and launch data-driven products—everything from performance monitoring tools to operational-efficiency dashboards.
Data Product Delivery & Quality Assurance
- Data Product Requirements & Roadmaps
- Collaborate with business experts, owners, and engineers
- Capture clear requirements and maintain a prioritized backlog of work
- Data Product Design & Prototyping
- Sketch wireframes/mock-ups and build prototypes
- Develop technical skills to build interactive data visualizations on strategic platforms for others to use
- Data Pipeline and Analytics Products Quality Assurance
- Profile source data, verify transformations, and enforce business rules
- Perform hands-on functional, regression, and data testing of new features and data pipelines.
- Help shape and enforce automated testing practices
- Investigate defects and data inconsistencies, working closely with dev teams for resolution.
- Go-Live Support
- Maintain data dictionaries and support metadata processes
- Troubleshoot production issues and participate in release activities
- Platform Agility
- Learn and apply new reporting or analytics tools as needed
About you
You are a proactive problem solver who is enthusiastic about learning and leveraging new tools. You look forward to working on the delivery of quality data products. Most importantly, you are a people person that loves collaborating with others to find excellent solutions to complex business problems!
You should have:
- A university degree in technical field (engineering, computer science or quantitative)
- 0-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in insurance/reinsurance or financial services. Experience not expected for a fresher.
- Knowledge of SQL, data validation, and working with structured datasets
- Data Visualisation knowledge – with understanding of UI/UX principles for data product design
- Understanding of data modelling concepts and working with data pipelines
Behavioural Competences
- Proficiency in spoken and written English communication is important.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to communicate on different levels of seniority.
- Ability to perform well on time-critical endeavours and on multiple fronts at the time.
Nice To have:
- Industry experience in (re-)insurance
- Understanding project management and interpersonal abilities
- Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Product Owner)
- Understanding of test planning, test execution, and defect management.
- Power BI, or Paginated Reports experience
- Palantir Foundry experience
- Python & TypeScript programming skills
