Claims Portfolio Analytics (CPA) aims to provide insights to the Claims business unit to empower decision-making. CPA democratizes access to data and insights by providing tools to Claims leader and staff (dashboards, etc.) and supports (and teaches) data storytelling as well as data visualizations. CPA provides tactical consulting to Claims management on prioritization as well as project and intervention planning, including goal/target evaluation/setting (financial and operational).
As an Associate Data Analyst, you actively contribute to various initiatives by analyzing data to solve business problems and providing valuable insights working with guidance, applying metrics to enable descriptive and diagnostic analysis. You will also apply recommended methods and critical thinking, perform analysis, deliver analytic solutions, and communicate findings to colleagues and managers in an effective manner.
How you will create impact:
- Perform descriptive and diagnostic analysis using appropriate methods with support of manager and/or senior peers (ex: regression, cohort analysis, cluster analysis, A/B testing).
- Apply metrics to enable descriptive analysis and diagnostic analysis with guidance from manager and/or senior peers.
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document requirements with guidance from manager and/or senior peers.
- Extract, clean, reconcile and prepare the data required for the analysis.
- Have functional knowledge in key programming tools (SQL, R, Python, Excel).
- Communicate findings to colleagues and your manager in an effective manner.

To join our team:
- You have up to 2 years of experience in Data Analytics or another related field.
- This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or any other relevant field.
- Having a Master’s degree and ACAS or FCAS designations are considered an asset.
- You have functional knowledge and understanding of: Data analysis, Programing/tools, Modelling techniques, Data warehouse/data management, Research, Architecture/design.
- You have experience solving routine problems using existing procedures and standard practices.
- Basic experience with following technologies is required: SQL.
- Strong communication, time management, problem solving and attention to detail skills.
