Senior Product Data Engineer, Bot MD Care

\ Bot MD is a Y Combinator-funded startup on a mission to Empower Doctors around the world. We’re building a suite of AI agents that help doctors, nurses, and clinic staff automate manual workflows and drive smarter, more efficient patient engagement—all through chat platforms that patients already use (like WhatsApp, Viber and FB Messenger). Our impact is especially critical in large, underserved healthcare systems across emerging markets.

We believe in creating products that delight clinicians and scale across hospitals and clinics without heavy onboarding or integration. Just like how clinics and hospitals across Southeast Asia intuitively know how to onboard onto the WhatsApp Business platform — we want to create a fast, intuitive, and self-serve platform.

We are looking for a scrappy and hands-on Data Engineer, who thrives at the intersection of data, engineering and product. You’ll help create the roadmap and build the Analytics Module for Bot MD Care, our AI-driven patient engagement platform, and work closely with our founders, design, and engineering teams to realize real-time analytics (including AI based tools).

This role is ideal for a hands-on and independent contributor with a strong product mindset, a love of well-designed products, and who is comfortable with a high pace of execution and solving problems by shipping fast and learning even faster.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and maintain scalable and secure data infrastructure to support real-time and batch analytics use cases
• Design and implement robust data pipelines for ingesting data from a variety of sources including third party APIs, Bot MD backend databases and hospital information systems
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering and Design to develop and build the Analytics Module in Bot MD Care
• Lead the design of data marts and models to support analytics, Dashboards, AI/ML workflows and product metrics
• Evaluate and integrate modern data tools (e.g. vector databases, LLMOps platforms, event streaming, dbt)
• Ensure best practices in data quality, lineage, governance and compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations

What We’re Looking For

• 5–6 years of experience in data engineering or analytics infrastructure, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and data pipeline tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt)
• Experience with modern cloud data stacks (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake) and BI tools (Metabase, Looker, Superset, Power BI)
• Strong ability to translate business questions into scalable, actionable analytics
• Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders and creating insights for a range of audiences, from executives to frontline teams
• Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines, LLM architectures, and vector search technologies
• Bonus: Experience with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR) and data privacy regulations
• Demonstrated product mindset—you shape what needs to be built, not just what’s asked
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
• Track record of shipping quickly in startup environments and building with user impact in mind
• Passion for building intuitive, self-serve analytics tools and onboarding flows
• BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent experience
