Job Description

Purpose for the role:

The role entails driving the identification, development, and implementation of Digital & AI use cases across the Global Offshore Wind (GOFSW) and UK Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) teams, with close collaboration with technical and operational stakeholders.

This includes developing and maintaining a clear IT & AI strategy and roadmap for the GOFSW & UK vertical (aligned with overall business strategy), supporting business case development for prioritized use cases, fostering cross-departmental knowledge-sharing to scale successful applications, as well as leading change management to support implementation & adoption. 

Digital & AI Strategy & Roadmap Development:

  • In collaboration with HQ teams, cascade the overall Masdar Digital & AI priorities & strategy into a clear & consistent Digital & AI strategy & roadmap for GOFSW & UK vertical, in alignment with corporate objectives and GOFSW&UK business priorities.
  • Maintain the roadmap, translating strategic goals into actionable plans, ensuring initiatives are prioritized by impact, feasibility, and alignment with technical capabilities.
  • Develop & maintain technology roadmap for Vertical (e.g., Document control management software)
  • Regularly review and adapt the roadmap based on progress, business needs, and emerging technologies – including communication with internal & external stakeholders

Use Case Identification, Delivery & Change Management:

  • Collaborate with OFSW and BESS delivery teams, and external consultants, to identify high-value Digital & AI use cases that improve operational efficiency, safety, and performance.
  • Develop robust business cases and success metrics for proposed initiatives, ensuring stakeholder buy-in and measurable outcomes.
  • Lead delivery of relevant Digital & AI projects alongside functional teams, ensuring timely execution, cross-functional coordination, and effective implementation / adoption.

Cross-Team Enablement & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Facilitate collaboration across departments to share AI use case learnings, best practices, and reusable tools or frameworks.
  • Organize regular workshops, demos, and internal communications to promote awareness and adoption of AI solutions.
  • Act as a central hub for capturing and distributing successful case studies across teams and regions.

External Landscape Scanning & Stakeholder Alignment:

  • Continuously scan the market for relevant external Digital & AI tools, platforms, and startups that can support or accelerate internal capabilities.
  • Establish relationships with relevant potential partners & suppliers for Digital & AI use cases
  • Engage with headquarters and global functions to align local efforts with group-wide Digital & AI programs and standards.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.  Professional certifications in AI, data analytics, agile project management (e.g., PMI-ACP, PRINCE2 Agile), or cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) preferred
  • Training or background in energy systems, renewable energy, offshore wind or BESS technologies is a strong plus.

Preferred Experience: 

  • 3 -5 years of experience in data / digital strategy, AI or digital transformation in a complex, cross-functional environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering AI/ML initiatives from concept to deployment, including stakeholder engagement and change management.
  • Familiarity with working in matrixed organizations and global teams, including alignment with central strategy and local execution.
  • Exposure to vendor selection, startup partnerships, or emerging tech scouting in the AI/ML space.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Exceptional strategic thinking & proven ability to lead & deliver strategic projects
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, use case development, and model lifecycle considerations (e.g., MLOps, explainability, governance).
  • Ability to translate complex technical opportunities into clear business cases with defined outcomes and KPIs.
  • Skilled in stakeholder engagement, with the ability to bridge communication between technical teams, business units, and executives.
  • Familiarity with data ecosystems, software platforms, and cloud environments commonly used in AI workflows (e.g., Azure ML, Databricks, Snowflake).
  • Excellent organizational and program management skills, including planning, prioritization, and risk management.
  • Strong verbal & written (e.g. powerpoint) presentation and storytelling abilities to communicate value and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of the complexity and challenges of driving/building a project delivery culture
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across global and regional teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive at identifying and designing solutions to challenge
