You will assist our senior engineers in transforming raw data into clean, reliable, and analytics-ready datasets. Under the guidance of our BI leadership, you will learn to build and maintain the semantic layer that powers our data-driven decisions. The right candidate will be a curious, fast learner with a strong analytical mindset, excited by the opportunity to grow into a skilled Analytics Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Contribute to dbt Models: Assist in developing, testing, and deploying data transformation models using dbt to turn raw data into clean, structured data marts.
- Support LookML Development: Learn and assist in the development and maintenance of our Looker semantic layer, including views and Explores.
- Support Business Requirements: Help translate business requirements into technical specifications for data models.
- Data Quality and Documentation: Assist in implementing data quality tests and writing clear documentation for data models and transformations.
- Troubleshoot and Collaborate: Work with the team to investigate data discrepancies, troubleshoot issues, and support Data Analysts and business users with their data questions.
- Learn and Grow: Actively learn our data stack, including dbt, Looker, and Google Cloud Platform, and contribute to the team's success.
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of hands-on experience in a data-focused role, involving direct work with data collection, cleaning, analysis, and visualization using tools such as SQL, Python, R, or similar.
- Strong SQL Proficiency: Proficient in writing SQL for data manipulation and analysis. This is a must-have foundational skill.
- Analytical Mindset: A logical and curious approach to problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail.
- Eagerness to Learn: A passion for data and a strong desire to learn new technologies and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with BI & Data Tools: Familiarity with or a strong interest in learning modern BI tools like Looker and data transformation tools like dbt is a huge plus.
- Data Concepts Understanding: A foundational understanding of data warehousing and data modeling concepts is desirable.
- Version Control: Familiarity with Git for version control is a plus.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A strong desire to investigate issues and find effective solutions.
- English Proficiency: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
