ING is looking for a passionate Junior Data Engineer

You will work as a junior engineer in our ING Global Strategy & People Analytics team where we build and deploy analytics products, data science models & dashboards to support all decisions about ING employees making ING a great place to work for. You will be working in our Amsterdam office with a 36- or 40-hour contract.Â
The teamÂ
You will work in a squad on the front-line closely with data scientists and business translators to agree on the best way to support our stakeholders. You will play a pivotal role in the administration of our platform and its future roadmap in collaboration with ING Tech & ING Analytics.Â

Roles and responsibilitiesÂ
In this role, you will be working in high-impact projects in INGâs global HR.Â
Creating, scheduling and optimizing the data processing pipelines using SQL & Python and deployed on our on-prem platform,Â
Improving data flow, establishing new data sources and deploying them,Â
Troubleshooting data issues, providing robust solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability,Â
Proactively working on our on-prem platform and its administration & its future roadmap with support of our data engineer,Â
You are the go-to person for our team members developing, testing, and deploying their work on our platform,Â
Supporting our platformâs IT Risk colleagues.Â

We are looking for you, if you:Â
Are a fresh graduate from a related academic program or have 0-2 years of data engineering experience,Â
Have experience building data pipelines, data processing and optimization using Python & SQL,Â
Have good knowledge of data manipulation and transformation, Â
Have knowledge of software engineering best practices, and deployment and provisioning automation tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD),Â
Have take-it-on-and-make-it-happen mentality, you are eager to take full ownership when we enter technical phase of a projectÂ
Have excellent communication skills, writing and verbal in English,Â
Reside in the Netherlands with a valid work permit,Â
Want to learn more and proactively acquire knowledge.Â
You'll get extra points for:Â
Hands-on experience in training and evaluating ML models,Â
Bash scripting and Linux systems.Â
