As we continue our pursuit of a Net Promotor Score (NPS) +30, we have established a Gen AI Domain to build the tools and capabilities needed within the group to tap into the promise of Generative AI as a key technology to transform the experiences of our customers and people.
This domain will power the creation of Generative AI solutions that will support more personalised experiences for our customers and our people. We must bring a customer first mindset into every decision; every day, whilst taking a holistic change management approach to drive organisational adoption.
We will enable the broader group to leverage Generative AI capabilities through building domain owned platforms and frameworks for use across the bank.

As a Technical Product Owner, you’ll be accountable to lead and drive robust set of Gen AI platforms offerings, tools and services owned by the Gen AI domain and to be adopted and scaled across multiple, cross-functional technology crews across the Group to solve and implement real-time Gen AI use cases!
You will be responsible to drive engaging conversations with multiple teams and business units to deeply understand their needs of our end customers, owning the roadmap of the Gen AI products, leading to successful milestones of feature driven engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a cross-functional squad composed of engineers reporting within the Gen AI Chapter Areas Lead as well as from other areas of CBA.
- Use your engineering background to deeply understand the customer needs for the platforms targeting internal engineers, engage with crew to understand the feasibility of transformative business capabilities
- Prioritise the crew backlog based on balancing business partner demands and long-term sustainability of your products and services, to optimise the overall customer experience, NPS scores and risk profile
- Engage with SRE teams, consuming service owners, the controls and risk communities to incorporate risk management into the platforms and deliver platform resilience
- Manage product delivery expectations and status reporting to technology and business stakeholders.
- Be accountable for the risks, costs & benefits of your platforms and services, driving the adoption of reliability, testing practices, and responsible AI.
- Understanding that Gen AI technology is incredibly fast moving, you will help the engineers within your squad to understand which aspects of the solution need variability vs stability.
- Be self-motivated to keep learning while delivering concrete outcomes for customers.
- Be an ambassador in driving the Gen AI transformation across the bank working with the Group Practice Gen AI Solutions lead, sharing information and supporting other teams in their learning journey, and building an open learning culture within the practice.

We are interested in hearing from people who are:
- Experienced in delivering complex, high profile digital capability and services, and prioritising accordingly
- Exceptional in stakeholder engagement and communicating to diverse group of tech and non-tech audiences.
- Engineering leaders with a core engineering background, and demonstrated experience in software development or data science streams.
- Experienced at building and operating a technology platform used internally or externally within a company for Gen AI and Agentic AI adoption.
- Champions of best change practices in driving innovative customer experiences and product development.
- Customer-obsessed in mindset by always asking the why and being able to determine the unmet needs of customers.
- Adept at leading engineering teams that build and scale distributed systems, tools and frameworks in a public, private or hybrid cloud environment.
- Enthusiastic to drive responsible Gen AI solutions by challenging technology limitations and deficiencies in the existing systems and associated processes, procedures, and methods.

- Python / TypeScript / C#
- Prompt Engineering, Gen AI and Agentic AI
- Non-deterministic automated testing
- Jira, Confluence
- MS Power Platform (inc. CoPilot Studio)
- Cloud Solution Architecture (AWS + Azure)
- Secure Coding
- Customer engagement systems
- Workflow platforms
