Finance & Business Intelligence Specialist

The Finance & Business Intelligence Specialist is a hybrid, junior-to-mid level role supporting both the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Business Intelligence teams. Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Support both FP&A and Business Intelligence teams in day-to-day operations, analysis, and reporting.
• Apply foundational skills in Excel, Tableau, SQL, Python, PowerPoint, and SSRS to deliver data-driven insights.
• Understand the firm’s data warehouse architecture and how data flows through the infrastructure to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Efficiently extract data from custom-build data marts and cubes.
• Prepare and maintain dashboards, reports, and ad hoc analyses that inform strategic and operational decisions.
• Analyze general ledger data and other financial records to track key balance sheet and income statement metrics.
• Collaborate across departments to understand business needs and translate them into actionable reporting solutions.
• Apply best practices for data visualization, storytelling, and stakeholder communication.
• Utilize proprietary AI tools to enhance reporting accuracy, streamline workflows, and uncover new insights.
• Build expertise in Aderant and other industry-specific platforms to support end-to-end reporting.
• Other responsibilities as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong foundation in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data modeling.
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL Server, SSRS, SSAS, and Tableau.
• Exposure to Python for data analysis or automation is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret data, generate insights, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Desire to learn and grow in both technical and business-focused dimensions.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and proactive in problem-solving.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, or a related field.
•  2+ years of relevant experience in financial analysis, data analytics, or business intelligence roles, preferred.
• Experience or coursework involving SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Python is preferred.
• Familiarity with service-based industries and/or financial systems (e.g., general ledger) is a plus.
