Key responsibilities:

• Lead a world-class data science team, focusing on building a high performance team. 

• Passionate about developing people, you will attract talent, coach and mentor team members balancing between projects timeline and team members' growth. 

• Rally and motivate the team. Communicate clear and inspiring purpose. 

• With excellent value driven execution, you will lead the team in the creation of data products that help power Levi’s strategy

• Lead design and planning, scoping and breaking down work into milestones, from problem conception to deployment to production, defining metrics to measure progress and business impact while providing ongoing progress visibility to stakeholders.

• Collaborate with a cross functional team spanning business, product management, and, engineering, to deliver value through execution.

• Strongly partner with relevant partner teams, especially business teams, product management and engineering, to influence their roadmap, and proactively identify new opportunities. 

• Identify trends and opportunities to drive innovation, both in what we do and how we do it; evaluate new data science, machine learning, and AI technologies and tools that can boost team performance, innovation and business value

• Contribute to relentlessly elevate the technical excellence of your team and the Strategy and AI organization.

About You

• You master the entire end-to-end ML pipeline with solid proficiency of the families of techniques for each step of the ML product development and their trade-offs. 

• Strong familiarity of Python and ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., spark, scikit-learn, pandas, numpy, tensorflow, pytorch, keras, theano, seaborn, matplotlib, etc.)

• Experience with SQL, NoSQL and cloud tools.

• Demonstrated successes in providing strategic vision and partnering with stakeholders to influence roadmaps through the power of data. 

• Demonstrated success in framing business opportunities into clear ML or analytics objectives and in effectively communicating complex technical concepts to a cross-functional audience.

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience, 4+ of which with growing responsibilities as an analyst, or data scientist. 2+ years managing data science/analytics teams, ideally in an agile environment.

• Advanced Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent STEM degree. PhD is a plus. 

• Track record of peer reviewed publications and presentations at relevant ML conferences a plus.
