The pay range is $73,200.00 - $131,700.00

A role with Target Data Sciences means the chance to help develop and manage state of the art predictive and prescriptive algorithms that use data to automate and optimize decisions at scale.  The Target Data Science Supply Chain Optimization team leverages operations research, simulation, and machine learning to help Target make intelligent supply chain business decisions.  This involves writing high-performant, scalable code as well as designing analytical solutions to extract insights and to prescribe best courses of action.

About you:

• 4-year degree in Quantitative disciplines - Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or related quantitative field
• 1+ year of experience in supply chain optimization, simulation and applied machine learning modeling
• Demonstrated hands-on programming skills in Python, Kotlin, Java or similar
• Experience writing clean, reusable, and repeatable code with an emphasis on testing/validation and continuous refactoring 
• Extensive experience in SQL, Spark, Hadoop/Hive and cloud computing
• Strong analytical thinking skills with an ability to creatively solve business problems and innovating new approaches where required
• Passion for solving interesting and relevant real-world problems using data
• Experience in applying advanced statistical techniques like regression, clustering, PCA, time series forecasting, etc. 
• Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly tell data driven stories through appropriate visualizations, graphs and narratives
• Self-driven and results oriented, team player with ability to collaborate effectively across geographies/time zones  

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
