Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly numerate data modeller with strong analytical, statistical and project management skills. Working as part of Informa Tech Target’s centralised Advanced Analytics team, the primary role of the senior data modeller will be to manage the production and timely delivery of analytical insights and market predictions covering the Telecoms, Media and Technology Industry.

You will be an experienced modeller with strong model building capabilities and will have a proven track record of compiling market predictions for bespoke/consulting projects. The successful candidate will have experience of presenting to senior level executives and be able to clearly demonstrate their ability to communicate effectively to both our internal and external customers.

In addition, the position demands that you can demonstrate initiative and a flexible yet organised approach to providing analytical insights and predictions across a range of different industry segments and subject areas in response to changing market dynamics. As the role has a commercial element, successful candidates are also expected to be involved in delivering their expertise to clients through direct interaction in the form of presentations, seminars, or face-to-face meetings.

For this role you will be expected to:

· Design, build and maintain robust, scalable data models and custom statistical solutions using advanced analytical techniques that adapt to the fast-evolving technology landscape.

· Deliver high-quality analytics and market predictions that form the quantitative foundation for both syndicated and consulting research projects across multiple segments.

· Implement and enhance analytical methodologies that transform complex data into actionable business intelligence.

· Act as the analytical subject matter expert, collaborating with research, product, technology and operations teams.

· Participate in specific analytical workstreams and methodological initiatives under the direction of the head of advanced analytics, taking ownership of implementation and adoption across designated teams

· Maintain quality control standards for analytical outputs, including validation protocols, peer review processes, version control and documentation requirements to ensure consistency and reliability across deliverables.

· Support head of advanced analytics in delivering bespoke projects and assist in developing the team strategy.

Qualifications

Essential

· Proficiency in statistical methodologies including regression analysis, time series forecasting, multivariate analysis, and econometric modelling with ability to select and apply appropriate techniques based on business context.

· Strong capabilities in handling large, complex datasets and addressing common data quality challenges in a research environment.

· Proven track record of requirements gathering, analytical workflow design, resource planning, timeline management, problem-solving and stakeholder communication.

· Hands-on experience in programming language such as Python or R with demonstrated ability to build end-to-end analytical workflows & market prediction models.

· Good written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to facilitate productive discussions between technical and non-technical stakeholders.

· Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Data Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering

· Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in analytical roles

 

Desirable

· In-depth knowledge of the TMT Industry and its market dynamics

· Advanced research skills for ongoing analysis and understanding of industry trends and key strategic issues.

· Previous experience of supervising others or leading small project teams.

· Masters degree in applicable subject

· Demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise written documentation on methodologies, assumptions and limitations.

· Experience presenting to external clients and at industry events

· Experience with cloud-based analytical platforms
