The City of Aurora is accepting applications for the position of Data Analyst I in the Information Technology Department.

The Data Analyst I will interpret data and analyze results using statistical tools and techniques. The successful candidate will turn data into information, information into insights and insights into business decisions.

Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques; Develop and implement data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality; Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets; Filter and clean data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems; Create presentations and reports for internal teams and/or external clients; Use graphs, infographics, and other methods to visualize data; Other related duties as assigned.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, computer science, information management or statistics; or equivalent proven working experience as a Data Analyst, Business Data Analyst or similar field. Must possess a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Must successfully pass pre-hire requirements including but not limited to a physical, drug screen, and background check.

This is a full-time, union represented position. Starting hourly pay is $36.47/hr.
