This is a great opportunity for a designer looking to expand their influence beyond their immediate scope while crafting user-centric designs across multiple initiatives within a product pillar.

This role is focused on our Voice AI product—a Generative AI-powered platform for building virtual customer service agents. It’s a rare opportunity to work on cutting-edge Gen AI technologies and product development. Observe.AI has been deeply rooted in the contact center industry for over eight years, and We are confident that our market understanding is second to none. This is the core strategy for Gen AI SaaS: Build the last-mile solution for a specific market problem, powered by LLMs.

This role spans research, design, product strategy, engineering alignment, and executive collaboration. You’ll need to be both a frontline problem-solver and a strategic thinker. It’s a high-responsibility role and reports to the Senior Director, Product Design.

What you’ll be doing

Product Sense

  • Translate product strategy into user-centered solutions with measurable outcomes
  • Build deep expertise in your product and user domain—informing design direction with strong business and technical context
  • Push beyond “form-based” solutions to explore higher-leverage design patterns (e.g., systems, automation, configuration models)

Research & Objective Clarity

  • Frame and define problems using a mix of user research, data, and cross-functional input.
  • Write project briefs, align teams on goals, and navigate ambiguity with structured problem-solving.
  • Identify missing data or insights and proactively gather them through self-led or partnered research efforts.
  • Ensure design work starts from a clear understanding of the “why” and ends with confidence in the solution’s impact.

Craft

  • Deliver thorough, well-considered UI and interaction designs that handle edge cases, responsiveness, and accessibility.
  • Prototype at high fidelity, using motion and transitions intentionally to bring designs to life and guide decision-making.
  • Influence and extend our design system where necessary—identifying opportunities to simplify and improve systemic usability.
  • Uphold a high bar for quality and consistency across all design work in your area.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate design rationale effectively to a variety of stakeholders, including executives.
  • Partner deeply with PMs and Engineers to drive alignment and momentum.
  • Lead meetings, design reviews, and critiques with structure and intention.
  • Tell compelling stories through visuals and narrative to gain buy-in and influence product direction.

Impact & Process

  • Drive roadmapping and planning conversations with product and engineering partners.
  • Balance speed and quality while working independently and leading initiatives.
  • Monitor post-launch impact, track success metrics, and proactively iterate based on insights.
  • Improve design and product development processes within your team or pod.

Leadership

  • Provide mentorship to junior designers and peers through feedback, coaching, and modeling great design practices.
  • Help shape our team’s design culture through rituals, documentation, and shared standards.
  • Participate actively in hiring—from interviews to design exercises and candidate feedback.
  • Influence the broader product team through thought leadership, collaboration norms, and quality benchmarks.
