As a Data Engineer, you will be part of a growing Data & Analytics function, working closely with product managers, architects, and stakeholders across the business to build high-quality data and BI products on our global Azure PaaS data platform.

Key Responsibilities

Data Product Development & Engineering

  • Design, build, and deploy scalable, high-performing data solutions on Pandora’s Azure-based data platform.
  • Create and maintain robust data pipelines that automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and improve data quality.
  • Own and monitor your data products, ensuring continuous performance and business impact.
  • Apply a “build-once, consume-many” mindset to enable reusable data solutions that serve the wider business.

Collaboration & Business Impact

  • Work within cross-functional teams to deliver data features that support commercial use cases and strategic decision making.
  • Translate business requirements into technical designs and data models.
  • Partner with stakeholders across global teams to understand their needs and solve complex data challenges.

Innovation & Best Practices

  • Contribute to evolving our cloud-based data platform, moving from IaaS to modern Azure PaaS tools like Databricks, ADF, Synapse, and Data Lake.
  • Follow software engineering best practices including DevOps, CI/CD, unit testing, and version control with Git.
  • Stay current with trends in data engineering and bring forward new ideas to improve our data ecosystem.

 

What You Bring to the Team

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a software engineering role with a data focus.
  • Proven hands-on experience with tools like Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, SQL Server, T-SQL/U-SQL, and DAX.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Java, or similar.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Git, and unit testing frameworks.
  • Proficiency in working with large datasets, data modeling, and building data pipelines in cloud environments (preferably Azure).
  • Agile mindset and experience working in Scrum-based teams.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to present technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with big data technologies like Spark or Hadoop.
  • Familiarity with real-time data processing tools such as Kafka or Spark Streaming.
