The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within Huawei’s Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Senior/Principal Power Electronics Engineer – AI-Driven Designs for future AI Data Centers (m/f/d)
Your mission
- Investigate advanced power electronics converter technologies by integrating AI with power electronics (e.g., magnetic components, control strategies, and circuit topologies) to develop innovative design methodologies;
- Work together with the local team to address technical challenges and enhance product performance in power supply solutions using AI-driven approaches;
- Expand collaborative ecosystems in Europe, and lead technical partnerships with research institutions;
- Evaluate industry and academia trends in power electronics, particularly in AI applications.
- Deliver routine technology insights for the power electronics field, share technical perspectives, and formulate AI-powered technology roadmaps for power supply applications.
Your areas of expertise
- You hold Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Power Electronics, Control Systems, AI Applications, or related fields;
- Experience in power electronics research and/or development, with a proven ability to apply cutting-edge design concepts to innovative power electronics solutions (e.g., magnetic components, control strategies, and circuit topologies) ;
- Hands-on experience in designing and training AI models using PyTorch or TensorFlow. Familiarity with Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Transformer architectures, and other advanced deep learning models;
- Strong understanding of the current state and future trends of AI applications in power electronics, with a focus on addressing industry challenges and opportunities;
- Prior research experience in high-current power supply systems for data centers is preferred;
- Fluency in English for technical communication
