Brief Role Description
At Volkswagen Infotainment GmbH, we are the center of excellence for connected vehicle technologies within the Volkswagen Group. Our mission is to develop cutting-edge infotainment and connectivity solutions â from Android Automotive OS and intuitive user experiences and seamless vehicle communication.
You will join an international, agile development team working on the middleware of the Volkswagen Operating System â enabling next-generation connected infotainment features.
Possible Tasks within this Role
- Develop tools and plugins to support the software development process in the Connected Infotainment domain
- Design and implement proof-of-concept features for next-generation connected vehicle services, such as:
- Online services (e.g., streaming, navigation, remote vehicle access)
- Vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication
- Android Automotive OS-based applications and integrations
- Analyze and visualize software metrics to improve system performance and user experience
- Present your results to stakeholders and within the development team
Qualification requirements
- Enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Media Informatics, Cognitive Science, or a related field
- Initial hands-on experience in software development, ideally in infotainment or mobile environments
- Proficiency in C++ and Python; experience with Java/Kotlin for Android is a strong plus
- Familiarity with Android development or Android Automotive OS is highly desirable
- Interest in connected vehicle technologies, UX design, or machine learning
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and agile development practices
- Strong analytical thinking, team spirit, and a self-driven working style
- Fluent in English; German is a plus
