Technical Architect (P4340)

We are seeking a Technical Architect to lead our engineering teams within the Software Architecture group. This role involves designing, building, and testing commercial software solutions in collaboration with other teams at 84.51˚. As a technical leader, you will use your understanding of enterprise architecture principles and your background in Ad tech or retail media to deliver high-quality software products. You will manage architects and engineers, providing guidance and support to help them make informed decisions.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, experience designers, security experts, and data scientists, to address end-user needs and challenges. You will also engage with vendors to evaluate technologies and facilitate rapid proof of concepts. We are looking for a technology leader who is focused on customer satisfaction, committed to shipping impactful software, and capable of inspiring others. Familiarity with the AI ecosystem and deep expertise in the Azure cloud platform are important for successfully integrating AI into products and developing innovative solutions.
What you will do:
- Design and engage in the implementation of cloud-native architectures for commercial applications, focusing on scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
- Lead and collaborate with engineering teams in designing and implementing scalable, secure, reliable, and high-performance software solutions.
- Be a mentor to technical teams, guiding them through complex trade-offs and decision-making processes to deliver optimal solutions that balance technical and business considerations.
- Communicate technical concepts and strategic visions clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including leadership teams, ensuring alignment and understanding across the organization.
- Oversee the implementation of software architecture designs, adapting to changes and challenges while maintaining adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, providing consistent direction while rapidly prototyping solutions based on emerging needs and opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Evaluate new technologies and tools to improve software development processes.
- Ensure that software architecture designs align with the organization’s strategic goals and industry best practices.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a field related to software development, technology, or engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in engineering organizations, with at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of enterprise architecture and system design principles.
- Extensive experience with cloud-native architectures, API-first organizations, and event-driven architecture.
- Hands-on experience in delivering and supporting software solutions in Azure, including cloud-native solution design.
- Familiarity with the AI ecosystem and its integration into software products.
- Proficiency in tech stack components such as Java, Python, Datadog, Harness, and Postman.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
- Critical thinker with the ability to identify, classify, and evaluate solutions, including build vs. buy decisions and general trade-off analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
- Experience in transitioning use-cases to event-driven architectures.
- Business Acumen, Communication and Leadership:
- Strong business sense with the ability to translate business problems into data-driven solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- High level of independence with the ability to make time-sensitive decisions rapidly and solve urgent problems.
- Desirable Additional Skills:
- Data architecture and modeling expertise.
- Snowflake expertise.
- Experience with programming languages such as JavaScript, Java, or Python.

- The stated salary range represents the entire span applicable across all geographic markets from lowest to highest. Actual salary offers will be determined by multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and alignment with market data and cost of labor. In addition to salary, this position is also eligible for variable compensation.
