The SDU Centre for Industrial Software, the Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Institute at the Faculty of Engineering in Sønderborg seeks a student developer. We are looking for a candidate to support our software development activities in the project.
Responsibilities:
Help with technical tasks in the project, with guidance. Relevant example tasks here are:
- developing data pipelines for processing satellite imagery and collecting data from Sentinel satellites
- programming and software tasks, e.g. creating deep learning models, testing and optimizing the models
- documenting all performed tasks in detail, visualizing the model results, and writing technical reports
- investigating related software and benchmarking tools
About you:
- You have prior knowledge of programming in python and are familiar with machine learning (ML) libraries in python.
- You have a strong interest in machine learning (ML) and deep learning research.
- You have prior experience developing ML models for image processing and segmentation tasks
- You have experience in developing data pipelines for processing satellite imagery
- You study in a relevant technical field, e.g. Software Engineering.
- You should be able to ask for help when you need it.
- You are expected to have adequate communication skills in English speaking and writing.
- You can work independently and as part of a team.
- We expect you to have a curious learning mentality.
- You have a strong sense of responsibility.
- You must be enrolled as a student at SDU.
The starting date is 1. September 2025 or after agreement. The position is for three months with the possibility for extension. We expect approx. 10-14 hours per week. We understand the importance of the balance between job and your studies and are flexible around your working days.

Please note, the selected candidate as a student developer must be enrolled as student at SDU.
Employment shall take place in accordance with the framework agreement between the Ministry of Finance and PROSA.
