The Lead Data Strategist, Life Sciences will play a pivotal role in this transformation, sitting at the intersection of clinical informatics, data strategy, and product innovation.
This job is responsible for leading the acquisition, integration, and optimization of diverse healthcare datasets to enrich WellSky’s data assets and support real-world evidence generation. The scope of this job includes converting complex data into actionable insights that power point-of-care solutions, data licensing opportunities, and patient support services for pharmaceutical partners within the life sciences industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with pharmaceutical clients to co-develop technology-enabled, service-based solutions that improve provider and patient engagement, adherence, and outcomes.
Lead the acquisition and integration of new healthcare datasets (e.g., claims, EHR, genomics, SDOH) and ensure they are normalized, analytics-ready, and aligned with solution and business roadmap to enhance WellSky’s data ecosystem.
Analyze WellSky’s clinical data assets to generate insights that inform solution development, commercialization strategies, and client solutions.
Partner with data science and research teams to publish white papers, blog posts, and research reports that showcase WellSky’s data capabilities.
Translate clinical and business needs into solution requirements and features across the full lifecycle—from ideation to post-market optimization.
Support the evolution of WellSky’s data licensing business by developing analytics-ready datasets, dashboards, and interactive tools.
Cultivate partnerships with academic and research institutions, and prepare proposals for access to government or controlled datasets.
Stay current with trends in digital health, clinical informatics, and pharmaceutical innovation to inform strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
Perform other job duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
8-12 years’ experience in healthcare technology, life sciences, or pharmaceutical data strategy, with a focus on clinical informatics, RWD/RWE, or data-driven product development.
Proven experience working with healthcare data platforms and secondary datasets (e.g., claims, Rx, lab data)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Clinical Informatics, Pharmacy, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, or a related field
Strong understanding of clinical workflows, data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR), and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR)
Demonstrated success in launching informatics-driven solutions or services in collaboration with pharma clients
Job Expectations:
Willing to work additional or irregular hours as needed
Must work in accordance with applicable security policies and procedures to safeguard company and client information
Must be able to sit and view a computer screen for extended periods of time
