Information Analyst DM Roads - TI

Are you passionate about data science, machine learning, and smart digital solutions? Downer is seeking an Information Analyst – Smart Solutions to join our innovative team in Brisbane. This role supports the development and implementation of cutting-edge AI and machine learning technologies to enhance data collection, management, and analysis across our asset management services.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement machine learning/AI models, particularly in computer vision and object recognition.
• Enhance data analytics and optimisation modules for scheduling and programming.
• Support smart digital solutions for data collection and analysis.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver integrated asset information systems.
• Document and standardise systems, processes, and best practices.

What you’ll bring

• Degree qualified in Data Science or a related field (a double degree with Civil Engineering is highly desirable).
• 3+ years of industry experience preferred.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with computer vision frameworks (e.g., Detectron2, YOLOv8+).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure.
• Knowledge of spatial analysis tools (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS, GeoPandas) is a plus.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Meticulous, well-organised, and adaptable.
