Job Summary:

A Statistical Genetic Analyst in VANTAGE collaborates as a member of a research team on the design and implementation of analysis pipelines. The Statistical Genetic Analyst also maintains and utilizes an automated data analysis pipeline for each Next Generation assay (RNASeq sequencing, Whole Genome Sequencing, Whole Exome Sequencing) incorporating results with the current Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and sample tracking database. A Statistical Genetic Analyst generates, converts, and manipulates datasheets and file formats to run various pipelines and generate multiple file types/analyses.

A Statistical Genetic Analyst utilizes data analysis software and computer hardware for the management and analysis of data using the Dragen pipelines. The daily tasks will include but are not limited to creating summary reports, reviewing Quality metrics per sample and per sequencing run metrics, and troubleshooting related issues. A Statistical Genetic Analyst provides timely access to sequencing data and sample analysis results to investigators.

a. Experience working with NGS data
b. Experience with large data sets
c. Lynx and R experience
d. Experience with the Dragen analysis software suite
e. Ability to prioritize projects based on information provided by management
f. Ability to work with deadline driven projects
g. Ability to manage time independently

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborates as a member of a research team on the design of a research project.
• Assists the research team in the design of methods to collect information.
• Participates in the development of operations and procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of data.
• Collaborates as a member of a research team on the implementation and analysis of a research project.
• Implements analysis, including data verification and data correction using appropriate hardware and software for the management and analysis of data.
• Manipulates standard data formats to create input and output formats for software.
• Assists in the publication of research projects.
• Participates in the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing data analysis results using appropriate methods and techniques.
