Key Job Purpose
We are looking for a Research Fellow to carry out applied research with transferable outcomes in haptic dual arm manipulation research as per SHARE at NTU project deliverables. The role will focus on Haptic SLAM for dual arm manipulation and planning contact rich manipulation tasks with dual arm robots.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist PI in defining research goals, formulating contact-rich robot manipulation as a planning problem using haptic-based algorithms
Coordinate with the extended research team in hands-on experiments for contact-rich manipulation tasks using impedance control
Contribute to data analysis of force/torque and kinematic data
Integrate key research findings in novel robot impedance control frameworks
Publish research outcome in peer-reviewed journals/conferences
Coordinate with research scholars and other students to meet project deliverables
Job Requirements:
PhD in robotics, automation or related fields
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to work independently and excellent time management skills
Prior robotic research experience, demonstrated through high quality publications/pre-prints
Well versed in robot kinematics, dynamics, robot modelling and control engineering
Experience in mobile manipulators and industrial robots
Programming languages/libraries: MATLAB, C++, Python, OpenCV
Competent in mechanical design
