Le Volontariat International en Entreprise est un programme unique au monde sponsorisĂ© par les MinistĂšres français de l’Europe et des Affaires EtrangĂšres, du MinistĂšre de l’Economie et des Finances et du MinistĂšre de la Transition Ă©cologique et de la CohĂ©sion des territoires et qui permet Ă  Airbus d'offrir Ă  de jeunes professionnels la possibilitĂ© d'acquĂ©rir une expĂ©rience rĂ©munĂ©rĂ©e et valorisante Ă  l'Ă©tranger, dans un mĂ©tier technique ou commercial.

Le programme VIE est un contrat spécifique, en vertu des critÚres d'éligibilité de Business France.

Principaux critÚres d'exigibilité du VIE :

● Être citoyen(ne) de l'Union EuropĂ©enne (plus NorvĂšge, Islande et Liechtenstein), et candidat(e) diplĂŽmĂ©(e) ĂągĂ©(e) de 28 ans maximum (une mission V.I.E peut dĂ©buter au plus tard le jour du vingt-neuviĂšme anniversaire)

● Avoir accompli les obligations militaires de son pays.

● Être impĂ©rativement inscrit sur le site Mon Volontariat International avant les 28 ans

Airbus Defence & Space recherche un VIE avec un profil de Data scientist ou d’IngĂ©nieur d’étude et dĂ©veloppement (f/h) ayant une expĂ©rience en tĂ©lĂ©dĂ©tection gĂ©ospatiale pour travailler sur le projet Starling avec l’équipe SDS (Satellite Data Science) du dĂ©partement « Solutions and Future Services » au sein de Connected Intelligence.

L’équipe SDS est basĂ©e Ă  Toulouse mais le poste de VIE est basĂ© dans la filiale hongroise d’Airbus Defence & Space Ă  Budapest (Hongrie). Le VIE viendra complĂ©ter l’équipe Starling locale (9 personnes).

SDS développe des services basés sur des images satellite, notamment la surveillance de la déforestation et l'agriculture de précision. STARLING, développé par Airbus, est un service de suivi de la déforestation et des écosystÚmes naturels, à destination de clients souhaitant garantir le respect de leurs engagements en matiÚre de déforestation. Une directive européenne sur la déforestation importée entraßne un développement majeur de ce service, nécessitant une refonte de l'outil actuel et l'introduction de nouvelles fonctionnalités.

Au sein de l’équipe SDS, vous serez impliquĂ© dans la maĂźtrise de tous les aspects du projet Starling : fonctionnement de la chaĂźne, cartes d'occupation du sol, surveillance de la forĂȘt. Les premiĂšres missions seront centrĂ©es sur la prise en compte des retours utilisateurs pour amĂ©liorer notre capacitĂ© de dĂ©tection de la dĂ©forestation et la crĂ©ation de sĂ©ries temporelles.

Vous collaborerez avec l’équipe de production et le data scientist sur place, et avec l’équipe SDS en France pour contribuer Ă  dĂ©velopper le service Starling et Ă  rĂ©pondre aux demandes clients.

  • Comprendre le fonctionnement du service Starling actuel et les Ă©volutions prĂ©vues,
  • Proposer et mener Ă  bien des projets d'innovation, des Ă©tudes de faisabilitĂ©, du benchmarking autour de Starling
  • DĂ©finir, dĂ©velopper et valider des workflows rĂ©pondant aux besoins
  • Proposer des amĂ©liorations pour nos solutions en dĂ©veloppant des algorithmes/modĂšles mĂ©tier
  • RĂ©daction de spĂ©cifications techniques

Compétences requises :

The Volunteer for International Experience (VIE) is a unique international program sponsored by the French Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, open to Airbus to offer young professionals the opportunity to have valuable paid work experience abroad in a technical or business function.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria.

VIE Main Requirements:

● European Union citizens (plus Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Monaco), graduates up to and including 28 years old (a V.I.E mission can begin no later than the day of the twenty-ninth birthday)

● Have fulfilled military obligations for their country, if any

● Must be registered on the Mon Volontariat International website before the age of 28

The contract duration of VIE is between 6 to 24 months.

Airbus Defence & Space is seeking a Data Scientist or Design and Development Engineer (m/f) with experience in geospatial remote sensing to work on the Starling project with the Satellite Data Science (SDS) team of the Solutions and Future Services department within Connected Intelligence. The SDS team is based in Toulouse, but the VIE position is located at the Hungarian subsidiary of Airbus Defence & Space in Budapest, Hungary. The VIE will complement the local Starling team (9 people).

SDS develops services based on satellite imagery, including deforestation monitoring and precision agriculture. STARLING, developed by Airbus, is a deforestation and natural ecosystem monitoring service for customers wishing to ensure compliance with their deforestation commitments. A European directive on imported deforestation is leading to a major expansion of this service, requiring an overhaul of the current tool and the introduction of new features.

As part of the SDS team, you will be involved in overseeing all aspects of the Starling project: chain operations, land-use mapping, and forest monitoring. Your initial assignments will focus on incorporating user feedback to improve our deforestation detection capabilities and create time series.

You will collaborate with the production team and the data scientist on site, as well as with the SDS team in France, to help develop the Starling service and respond to customer requests.

  • Propose and carry out innovation projects, feasibility studies, and benchmarking around Starling
  • Define, develop, and validate workflows that meet needs
  • Propose improvements to our solutions by developing algorithms/business models
  • Draft technical specifications

Required skills:

‱ Engineering degree or equivalent in one of the following fields: remote sensing, geomatics, agronomy, forestry, computer science, or applied mathematics, etc.

‱ Ability to solve complex problems, analyze client needs, work in a team, and think outside the box

‱ Creativity and autonomy

‱ Experience in remote sensing, geomatics, and image processing

‱ Knowledge of algorithms

‱ Good technical documentation writing skills

‱ Proficiency in Python

‱ French and English: negotiation level

‱ Experience with GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, etc.)

‱ Knowledge of PostGIS, PostgreSQL, GCP, Docker, and ArcPy
