The Position
Roche Pharma Switzerland (RPS) is a part of the Roche Group based in Basel. We cover the areas of Marketing & Sales, Medical, Market Access & Healthcare Affairs as well as Governmental Affairs and Quality Assurance for the Swiss market. We have held a leading position in the field of prescription and innovative medicines for many years. Within Finance & Business Partnering at Roche Pharma Switzerland, the Business Data Analyst is part of the Strategic Finance and Insights chapter with its mission: As trusted partners we leverage data and actionable insights for strategic decision making to improve customer satisfaction and maximize business value for patients, the healthcare system and Roche.
You will work in a dynamic environment and collaborate across the RPS network (Marketing, Medical, Pipeline, Supply Chain, Regulatory Affairs, Patient Partnership, Quality & Compliance and Market Access), global teams and partner with the company's stakeholders in a key role to shape and advance our analytics capabilities, that enable data-driven decision making, using insights from data, analytics and data science to achieve our ambitions. You will be instrumental to implement and leverage technical advances, to shape our system landscape and integration of data systems, to automate data processes and monitor data quality.
Your business acumen and teamwork skills will allow you to work closely with, and deliver tangible value to, business partners. Having a high level of technical proficiency is also needed to deliver well validated models, insightful analyses, and collaborate with our team of global data scientists, IT-engineers and business analysts.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will be effective at integrating data science and analytics into business practice, and visualizations into data-centric products and processes that run at scale and brings a mixture of technical, business and organizational skills.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their reporting needs and translate them into effective solutions to influence decisions using insights from data, analytics and data science: a) Development and advancement of analytics b) Statistical data analysis, modeling and data mining as well as application of new approaches c) Using predictive models to generate business insights
Design, develop, and maintain interactive reports and dashboards using front-end tools such as Tableau and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Handling diverse requests from the business, including project requests, ad-hoc analyses, troubleshooting, and report maintenance
Utilize your knowledge of SQL to query and analyze data for reporting and contribute to ETL pipelines and data flows relevant to our reporting environment
Ensure data accuracy and integrity in all reporting deliverables
Project management tasks related to reporting and analytics requests
Contribute to the development and maintenance of documentation related to reports, data sources, and processes
Who you are:
You have experience in performing data exploration to identify actionable insights - including finding trends, key features, feature engineering, discovering and showing relationships and developing visualizations. Furthermore:
Good communication skills, fluent in German & English
Operating in data environments with multiple complex data sources: finding, accessing, cleansing, merging, validating and annotating data
Proficient in developing reports and dashboards using Tableau and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
Solid understanding of data visualization best practices and principles
Experience connecting to various data sources and preparing data for reporting
Basic understanding in SQL for data querying and analysis and familiarity with ETL processes and data pipelines
Ability to analyse and understand business requirements and proactive approach to problem-solving
