The opportunity

We’re looking for a Staff SDK Engineer to join our Ads organization and help build scalable, privacy-aware data collection systems. In this role, you'll focus on gathering and validating high-quality behavioral signals from client applications that fuel our machine learning models for ad targeting, ranking, and optimization.

This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of SDK development, data infrastructure, and ML—building solutions that support billions of global ad experiences while upholding privacy and compliance standards. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, researchers, and product teams to ensure that the data powering our systems is accurate, efficient, and ethically collected.

What you'll be doing

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining SDKs that collect contextual and behavioral data from client applications, including mobile, desktop, and Unity.
  • Implementing robust instrumentation standards and contributing to scalable data collection practices for ML use cases.
  • Collaborating with ML scientists, data engineers, and product managers to evolve SDK capabilities in line with changing product and machine learning needs.
  • Building tools and frameworks to monitor, validate, and test data collection systems in production.
  • Working with privacy and legal teams to ensure compliance with regulations such as GDPR and CCPA, with a strong focus on user consent and data minimization.

What we're looking for

  • Strong experience with client application development, such as iOS, Android, Unity, or C++.
  • Solid background in event-based data collection, telemetry, or analytics frameworks.
  • Understanding of data preprocessing and validation for machine learning pipelines.
  • Familiarity with experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and feature/signal gating.
  • Ability to collaborate across teams and contribute to cross-functional initiatives spanning SDKs, ML infrastructure, and backend systems.

You might also have

  • Exposure to real-time and batch processing frameworks such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
  • Knowledge of privacy-enhancing technologies, consent frameworks, or differential privacy concepts.
  • Experience in ad tech or monetization systems, especially in areas involving user interaction signals or model-driven optimization.

Additional information

  • Relocation support is not available for this position.
