Right now we’re looking for a Data Engineering Manager to play a key role in our Data Engineering Department in Athens. Sounds great, what will I be doing? 🤔

As our Data Engineering Manager you’ll lead key initiatives around the core of our business: survey data. You will guide a multidisciplinary team of Data Engineers, collaborating closely with Software Engineers and PMs, and you will be hands-on in designing and overseeing the delivery of robust, scalable data solutions that form the backbone of a modern data platform. You'll own the technical roadmap, drive its formation and communicate it effectively across the organization, all while contributing directly to GWI's goal of embedding consumer insights at the heart of every organization. Beyond the technical leadership, you'll be responsible for growing and nurturing your data engineering reports, fostering their professional development while maintaining high team performance. You'll coordinate agile ceremonies, ensuring smooth delivery cycles and effective team collaboration.

What do I need to bring with me? 🧳

You’ll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you’re willing to learn. Here’s what the team will be looking for:

👉 Proven experience leading impactful data projects and managing engineers, with a strong delivery track record. Skilled in coaching, performance reviews, and building high-performing teams
👉 Hands-on in SQL and Python, with deep expertise in end-to-end data pipelines—covering orchestration, modeling, transformation, and quality—at scale
👉 Strong knowledge of modern cloud data stacks (e.g. BigQuery, Airflow, dbt, Spark), plus familiarity with LLM-adjacent tooling like vector databases and RAG
👉 Well-versed in data governance, cataloging, accessibility, and quality assurance
👉 Effective communicator with experience in agile methodologies, roadmap planning, and aligning technical strategy to business goals
