Profile Description  

We’re seeking someone to join our team as (Associate) Data /AI Engineer will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the infrastructure required to track cloud adoption across the firm.  

 

Enterprise_Technology  

Enterprise Technology & Services (ETS) delivers shared technology services for Morgan Stanley supporting all business applications and end users. ETS provides capabilities for all stages of Morgan Stanley’s software development lifecycle, enabling productive coding, functional and integration testing, application releases, and ongoing monitoring and support for over 3,000 production applications. ETS also delivers all workplace technologies (desktop, mobile, voice, video, productivity, intranet/internet) in integrated configurations that boost the personal productivity of employees. Application and end user functions are delivered on a scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure composed of seamlessly integrated datacenter, network, compute, cloud, storage, and database functions. 

 

Enterprise Computing (EC) 

Enterprise Computing is a department of Core Infrastructure that provides a collection of products and services that make up the Morgan Stanley core compute infrastructure, hosting platforms and supporting application services. Solutions are delivered across the infrastructure stack from foundational hardware platforms, storage, server operating systems and virtualization up through the hosting of common web, database, middleware and reporting services. 

 

Data & Analytics Engineering 

This is Associate position that provides specialist data analysis and expertise that drive decision-making and business insights as well as crafting data pipelines, implementing data models,  optimizing data processes for improved data accuracy and accessibility, including applying machine learning and AI-based techniques.

What you’ll do in the role: 

 

• The vision for Cloud Business Intelligence (Cloud BI) is to create and support a platform with near real time access to information required to make effective business decisions in alignment with Firm's Cloud Strategy and Application Modernization Objective.   

• The Cloud BI platform will adhere to the principles of user driven incremental delivery, authoritative source, data driven integration and flexible infrastructure that can adapt to market trends. 

• The Cloud BI Squad drives and facilitates the adoption of cloud services to align with the Morgan Stanley cloud strategy. We are an inclusive and supportive team with excellent exposure to cloud adoption across the firm.   
• The Cloud BI team owns the infrastructure responsible for defining application patterns, capturing architecture decisions and the business intelligence system used for cloud migration tracking.  In this role, you will be responsible for the development, maintenance and support of the infrastructure required to track cloud adoption across the firm.   
• Responsible for capturing and displaying cloud metrics and providing insight to cloud capabilities, portfolio and migration progress.   
• Development will be distributed between on prem and cloud, integrating diverse data sources and supplying the data to stakeholders in the required format.   

What you’ll bring to the role: 

 • At least 4 years’ relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role 

• The ideal candidate will have experience with databases, API, integration and data loading, be comfortable data modelling across structured, unstructured and timeseries stores, integrating incomplete data sets with subjective data, aggregating and communicating information and incorporating client feedback.  

• Development experience (e.g. Python, ETL Tooling, Swagger) 

• Basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts 

• Business Intelligence or data analytics experience (e.g. PowerBI) 

• Database experience (e.g. Structured, Unstructured, Column e.g. Snowflake) 

• Build Management, Deployment & Technology Change Management experience 

• Data Operations and Production Management experience 

• Metrics and data analytics experience (KPIs, metrics, predictive analytics) 

• Experience with Agile development methodology and CI/CD 

• Experience with tools such as GIT, Jira and Bitbucket 

• Cloud development experience (e.g. Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure Functions, AWS Lambda)
