As the digital world grows, so does the need to keep all of MassMutual’s data secure. The Cyber Data Security Engineering team is on the forefront of how we keep all our data safe.  As part of this team, you will help choose, architect, implement, and maintain the right DLP\CASB solutions to maximize the effectiveness of deployed applications ensuring MassMutual is protected.

As a Cyber Data Protection Engineer, you will have responsibility for providing security technology across multiple business areas. You will be expected to contribute to initiatives across our Enterprise Cyber Security organization and work on priority-driven items which change based on need.

What Your Days and Weeks Will Include:
  • Contribute to the creation of key performance indicators (KPI) and data driven reporting that can foster a continuous improvement and a “what gets measured gets done” environment. 
  • Conduct data analysis on current DLP tools results to determine security trends and to make data driven recommendations for improvements to current DLP policies and the need for new policies.
  • Visualize the findings through comprehensive reports, graphs, charts, dashboards, and other means of presentation
  • Support new and future operational metrics and OKRs/KRs though DLP data analytics
  • Translate business requirements, specifications, and generalized needs into product offerings including rules, monitors, alerts, and playbooks 
  • Provide security control enhancements recommendations based on regulatory and best practice procedures 
  • Operate and solve issues in modern virtualized, on-prem, cloud, and hybrid environments 
  • Work in collaborative team environment utilizing Agile development methodologies and principles, mentoring teammates, and learning cross functional skills to support a range of technologies as a product offering 

What Success Looks Like:
  • Analyze DLP data to determine security trends and to make data driven recommendations for improvements to current DLP policies and the need for new policies. Visualize the findings through comprehensive reports, graphs, charts, dashboards, and other means of presentation.
  • Advise leadership on DLP policy creation for protecting sensitive data. This includes testing and assuring new policies, agent deployments, new functionality prior to implementation, revise currently deployed policies to reduce false positives and help manage exceptions. 
  • Ability to develop, enhance, and maintain data security and protection platforms according to business need.  This includes but is not limited to designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining systems, across multiple hardware and software platforms in a hybrid environment 
  • Be an active participant in the evolution from rules & policies to event/data driven DLP. This links DLP and user behavior analytics, and risk scoring for individual users based on their usage patterns, the applications, and the data they normally interact with.

The Skills That Make You a Great Fit:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3 years of experience working in the Data Analysis career field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Hands on experience with Data Loss Prevention technologies and capabilities
  • Experience and confidence with communicating with and presenting to senior leadership
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 years of experience working in the Data Analysis career field
  • Experience with SQL, Alteryx, Tableau and other skills
  • Experience in financial services or consulting organizations preferred
  • Experience working with response teams for security/ DLP investigations is a plus
  • Working knowledge of other Scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc) a plus
