As a Behavioral Data Scientist, your mission is to help the organization move beyond “what worked” to “why it worked.” You’ll bring behavioral science, strategic thinking, and user empathy to how we design and interpret experiments. Working alongside PMs, analysts, and designers, you’ll ensure our tests not only detect changes in metrics — but help explain them and drive smarter decision-making at scale.
Your MissionTranslate behavioral outcomes into business insight. Drive strategic understanding of experimentation results by identifying the mechanisms and motivations behind user behavior.
Responsibilities:Collaborate early in the experiment lifecycle to shape hypotheses, define success metrics, and recommend test methodologies.Use behavioral frameworks to guide test design and anticipate potential outcomes.Analyze pre-test data to identify usage patterns and behavioral baselines.Interpret test outcomes through a behavioral lens: go beyond statistical significance to uncover why a treatment worked (or didn’t).Partner with analysts on meta-analyses across test themes; highlight strategic patterns and learning opportunities.Recommend follow-up experiments, qualitative dives, or strategic pivots based on results.Communicate findings in clear, persuasive narratives for cross-functional audiences.Document behavioral insights and frameworks used for wider internal learning.Proactively manage workload with support from PMs and TPMs — balancing multiple projects with clear priorities.
Requirements for this challenge:Experience as a Data ScientistStrong statistical literacy and experience working with experimental and observational data.Proficiency in Python, R, or similar for behavioral modeling and analysis.Proven ability to connect user behavior with psychological theory in a business/product context.Experience collaborating cross-functionally with data analysts, product managers, and designers.Advanced English communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking), as you will present data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
