Data & Analytics Engineer- Operational Excellence

POSITION PURPOSE

As part of the Operational Excellence (OpEx) team, this role blends data analytics, engineering, and automation to drive performance and efficiency across Finance and business operations. You’ll transform raw data into insights and tools that unlock process improvements, cost savings, and strategic decision-making.

This is a hands-on role where you'll collaborate across departments, build robust data pipelines, help automate manual work, and support our data infrastructure. Ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-moving environment and enjoys combining analytical thinking with technical implementation.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Analysis & Insight Generation                                                                                                                 

• Lead the analysis of operational and financial datasets to identify inefficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and performance improvement areas. Translate complex data into actionable business recommendations.

Data Engineering & Infrastructure Development                                                                                             

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data models that support reporting, analytics, and automation. Ensure data accuracy, availability, and governance across systems.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Problem Framing                                                                                       

• Work closely with operational and technical stakeholders to understand needs, frame data problems, and develop solutions aligned to OpEx goals.           

Technical Enablement                                                                                                                                     

• Support automation of manual processes by integrating data solutions with APIs, automation tools, or Python-based workflows to streamline operational work.

Advanced Analytics & Innovation

• Contribute to predictive analytics, statistical modeling, or advanced data science initiatives as needed. Evaluate and prototype innovative solutions that enhance operational excellence.

Data Visualization & Storytelling

• Create clear and compelling dashboards, reports, and presentations that communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences.    

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a data analytics, data engineering, or analytics-focused role within a business or operational environment.

Skills/Abilities

• Strong programming skills in at least one scripting language commonly used in data analysis (e.g., Python, R).
• Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational and/or cloud-based databases.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Experience using data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and general software development practices in a data environment.

Preferred:

• Experience with cloud platforms and their data services.
• Exposure to automation and workflow tools (e.g., RPA, APIs, orchestration tools).
• Familiarity with advanced analytics or predictive modeling techniques.
• Understanding of data governance, data quality, and security best practices.
