Overview

As a Model Validation Analyst, you’ll help drive Concora Credit’s Mission to enable customers to Do More with Credit – every single day.

At Concora Credit, you’ll combine your skills in data analytics, statistical modeling, and risk management to improve our models so that they can drive the business in measurable ways. You’ll work alongside the Data Science team to review, assess, and challenge models to ensure they align with the visions of our key stakeholders, our banking partners, and regulatory bodies.

 

This position is located at our Beaverton, OR office and has a hybrid schedule. We’re onsite Monday through Wednesday.

Responsibilities

As our Model Validation Analyst, you will:

  • Review and assess statistical/ML models for our business use cases, including credit risk, marketing, fraud, and operations
  • Ensure models are optimal for business purposes and follow the regulatory guidance set forth by our compliance experts and banking partners
  • Document model validation activities in written reports and dashboards
  • Interface with our internal stakeholders, banking partners, and data science team to align model validation activities
  • Identify ways to improve and innovate model validation activities
  • Manage and manipulate large data sets using a variety of software packages
  • Perform all duties and responsibilities leveraging strong quantitative, critical thinking, and communication skills

Accountability:

All reports, analyses, and recommendations should be completed in a timely manner and with extreme attention to detail.  You’ll be expected to thoroughly review all datasets, analysis, and presentations for accuracy, and present your work regularly, and provide supporting evidence for your recommendations.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or similar) with 3 or more years of data science/statistical model development experience, or MA/MS in a quantitative field
  • Experience in machine learning techniques, such as Gradient Boosted Trees, Logistic Regression, Neural Networks, Unsupervised Learning, etc.
  • Proficiency in Python, Excel, and SQL
  • Ability to write technical documents and PowerPoint decks and present them to audiences of different technical disciplines
  • Excellent problem-solving and strong quantitative skills
  • Disciplined attention to detail
  • Strong ability to work proactively and collaboratively in a cross-functional team to drive results
  • Results Focus: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with a team

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with credit bureaus and alternative data sources.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written.
