The Data & Analytics (D&A) team plays a key role in Wilhelmsen Maritime Services delivering operational, financial and management reporting to business units across the organization. This Agile team consists of both internal and external data engineers, having full end to end responsibility for both development and operations, from creating the data pipelines to visualizing the data to end users. 

We are now looking to increase organizational awareness of Analytics & Information Management (AIM) with a dynamic Director who enjoys speaking in front of an audience. Thrives within high-performing teams, and is committed to advancing this technology to even new heights. All in a bid to emphasize the importance of master data, data quality, architecture and analytics. Going the extra mile to build a collaborative and high performing culture. Ensuring the analytics platform and team have the capabilities to design, develop and maintain traditional Business Intelligence deliveries whilst pursuing exciting new capabilities through machine learning and artificial intelligence.  

The Director of Data and Analytics will be responsible for spearheading enhancements and advancing on of our strategic objective to leverage data for more informed decision - making. We want all levels of our organization to be empowered by data. Fueling our ambition of being evidence based in our pursuit of shaping the maritime industry. The right candidate will bring a ‘’healthy’’ amount of curiosity, to identify business needs and effectively ensuring that those needs are supported by processes, systems, people and data. Collaborating closely within GBS, with functions such as HR and Finance as well as Solution/Enterprise Architects, and other Business Units  

What you will be working on:  

  • Overseeing the strategy, implementation, and governance of master data and data analytics initiatives, ensuring that data is utilized efficiently across GBS and wider Wilhelmsen Business Units.  

  • Work closely with the GBS Technology Management team to translate strategic objectives into operational plans, harmonize processes across the department, provide regular updates on analytics trends and updates, as well as manage target & budget processes. 

  • Manage line management responsibilities for the D&A team to support data , analytics and self-service needs of the wider business, through accurate and consistent deliveries, demand management and quality control.  

  • Support team development through regular 1 to 1s, performance reviews and identification of training requirements  

  • Coordinate and collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into capabilities and architecture designs. 

  • Look for ways to integrate AI, ML and advanced analytics into BI initiatives and global processes. 

 

What we are looking for:  

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline is required. Relevant experience may be considered as a substitute for formal education.  

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with Analytics & Information Management.  

  • Experience from data warehousing projects and toolset, including Azure, Power BI, Snowflake, DBT and other ETL/BI tools as well as relevant databases/applications (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake, Salesforce).  

  • Expertise within relevant fields & technology; information architecture, data modelling, business intelligence, advanced analytics (ML, AI etc.), master data management, data governance, data quality management, open-source, cloud and ERP.  

  • Experience with data strategy, governance, team- and project management.  

  • Familiar with relevant frameworks related to delivery, architecture and data management.  

  • Self-motivated and autonomous, capable of initiating actions to achieve agreed upon goals and milestones.  

  • Ability to challenge the status quo and enhance and modernize the existing technology landscape.   

  • Comfortable to work in the interface between business and Technology.  

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to build, lead, and develop high-performing, service-oriented teams.
