POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Data Analyst II plays an important role in creating reports and presentations that translate into meaningful information to facilitate tactical and strategic decision-making. The right person will resolve business issues and begin to design, develop, and implement business applications to meet customer needs and goals.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Construct and maintain structured financial and operational analysis models as tools to aid in data analysis. Prepare data that can be used for upper level reports and presentations.
Aggregate and organize financial data from multiple platforms and systems and suggest procedural changes to increase the accuracy, effectiveness, and efficiency of models and reports used or produced by the team.
Document work processes, including data sources and definitions. Ensure data accuracy.
Frequently interact and coordinate with other departments to address business issues and to meet organizational objectives.
Support the development of analysis of company financial performance, including both revenue and expenses. Interpret data and identify trends to help leadership understand drivers of results, make decisions, and develop strategy.
JOB REQUREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, economics, or equivalent.
2 years of corporate finance, analysis, or accounting experience (can include internships)
Insurance experience preferred
Intermediate Excel skills required.
Strong knowledge of financial statements (income statements, balance sheets and cash flows).
Understanding of differences between GAAP and STAT.
Knowledge of insurance products and distribution a plus
Understanding of insurance concepts a plus
Basic skills in Hyperion/Oracle BI or Tableau preferred but not required.

Ability to cope with uncertainty, learn fast, motivated by new and complex challenges

Ability to quickly absorb complex issues, ensure alignment across cross-functional teams

The range for this position is $68,000 to $113,400. When determining candidate offers, we consider experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location among other factors. This job is also eligible for our Kemper benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401k, etc.)
