Come join us as you are. We believe diverse perspectives make us stronger and more innovative. In our global community of people from 100+ countries, we listen to each other, actively contribute and grow together.

Join us in our exciting quest to build a future home.

About the role:

The Digital & Electronic Technology Organization, global and central team developing new Electronic platforms and digital services across categories, is looking for an independent, creative, and open-minded individual to join as a Control Algorithm Engineer.

If you  are passionate about innovation and possess skill on control theory, computer science, robotics, mechatronics  and machine learning, with a result-oriented attitude, join us and strengthen our team for the development and testing of new control algorithmic platforms for Electrolux appliances. You will also be part of the team working in a matrix department, building strong and valid relationships with other D&ET & R&D functions.

What will you do:

  • Translate project or product requirements into control algorithm specifications (performance expectations, interfaces, parametrization, complexity), and plan the steps to assess, design, test the proposed solution, coordinating with the relevant stakeholders.

  • Choose the right control algorithm,  signal processing and machine learning methodology to develop  algorithmic platforms that, besides addressing the specific use-case, may be reused in a wider domain of applications, preferably cross product category.

  • Devise new advanced control algorithm solutions to improve the state of the art in terms of performance, robustness and  ease of calibration.

  • Develop intelligent features for the appliances, ranging from consumer facing solutions to predictive maintenance capabilities and virtual sensing.

  • Maintain the proprietary Electric Motor Control platform to integrate new features, to enable driving new motor types, to improve performance, to optimize its architecture and simplify its parametrization.

  • Maintain and update existing control algorithms, resolving bugs and identifying opportunities for algorithm improvement in terms of complexity reduction, performance increase and cost reduction for the final target appliance.

  • Contribute to the definition of a test plan to validate the developed algorithms and the algorithms platforms and execute the testing and validation both in simulation, hardware in the loop, and on real products.

  • Develop and calibrate dynamical plant models of physical systems (mainly but not limited to thermal and electro-thermal processes) to perform virtual tests of control algorithms for appliances

  • Master and foster the adoption of the Model Based Design (MBD) approach to develop the control algorithms and to automatically generate the code to be integrated in the FW and contribute to the maintenance of the MBD framework

  • Configure and verify the consistency of the process of Automatic Code Generation for a control algorithm according to coding rules, preparing interfaces with the FW.

Who you are:

  • Master’s degree in Electric/Electronic/Mechatronic/Automation Engineering or Physics or Mathematics or similar technical fields. PhD degree or equivalent is highly recommended.

  • Post-Doc or 3 years of relevant Industrial experience is highly recommended, ideally in automotive or household sectors, robotics and plant automation

  • Very good knowledge of linear and non-linear controls, dynamic systems, estimation, optimization

  • Ability in data analysis and understanding of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence (Deep Learning) techniques.

  • Proficient user of Matlab / Simulink, Knowledge of Python is seen as a plus

  • Knowledge of microcontroller, C language programming, Model Based Design approach

  • In your career, you should have consistently designed and validated in practice, be it appliances or industrial automation controls, embedded control systems and/or process control algorithms

  • Capable to inspire and engage people while fostering a culture of accountability and ownership

  • Capable to react positively to the new unknown or ambiguous situation and adapt accordingly

  • Fluent English.

Where you'll be:

You will be based in Electrolux D&ET office in Porcia (PN), almost 1 hour distance from Venice, where we also have the washing machines and dryers production site. In our office, you will work together with hundreds of people from different functions and various nationalities, with the common goal of creating the technologies of the future.

Benefits highlights:

  • Flexible working hours and smart working

  • Company canteen and Gym in the plant

  • Extensive learning opportunities and flexible career path

  • Discounts on our award-winning Electrolux products and services

  • Family friend benefits

As part of Electrolux, we will continuously invest in you and your development. There are no barriers to where your career could take you
