Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Management Consultant to join the Auto Lending Data and Insights Product Team. This team plays a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives across Consumer Lending Auto, with a focus on the modernization and transformation of data management capabilities, enabling quicker data analysis, faster decision making and business insights. Your work will directly contribute to the transition to target state tools, controls and AI opportunities to drive efficiencies and higher quality data.

This role will be responsible for supporting the execution of the data strategy and governance for Auto Lending as we modernize our data platforms and accommodate data ingestion from new and upscaled sources. Your contributions will be critical to our overarching goal of positioning the Auto business for the future in terms of data provisioning, data governance and data enablement.

Data Management: Covers jobs responsible for enabling data product design and delivery to drive business initiatives, strategies, and analytics, while incorporating governance set by Data Management. Serves as a bridge between data analytics, data management, and technology focusing on data integration, efficiency, and enablement across data platforms and utilities.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in moderately complex programs and initiatives for data quality, governance, and metadata activities
  • Design and conduct moderately complex analysis to identify data quality, data integrity, process, and control measures
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise data management policies and standards; assist with or create various data management deliverables or artifacts, e.g., data dictionaries, data lineage, data checks and control assessments.  Provide QA as needed to work product.
  • Provide first level support for various programs or projects that require data lineage or data artifact creation. Collaborate and consult with other members of the project or program.
  • Work within required artifact development SLA’s or timelines.  Includes accountability for assigned initiatives or work product, limiting risk exposure, and creating efficiencies as appropriate.  Leverage team environment to support delivery of on-time deliverables.
  • Understand the business application development and change management roadmap in partnership with current business and technology application owners, providing insight into potential risks, compliance implications or control gaps.
  • Manage low to moderate-complexity datasets continuously focusing on the consumers of the data and their business needs, while adhering to set data governance and standards
  • Communicate low to moderate complexity data problems and initiatives in a digestible manner to all audiences

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of data product or data management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:

  • Data governance, data stewardship or metadata management experience
  • Data profiling or data quality assurance experience
  • Knowledge of data management frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience defining, documenting, and implementing business requirements, policies, procedures and processes
  • Customer service focus with the ability to actively listen, elicit information, comprehend customer issues/needs, and recommend solutions
  • History of building effective business partnerships with peers and colleagues.
  • Ability to present complex material in an audience appropriate and consumable manner to various levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of financial industry compliance requirements
  • Auto lending background desired
  • Flexible and adaptable; Able to work in ambiguous situations; Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical skills and SQL experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
