Job Description:

The role of an BI Developer, ERP, involves designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that integrate with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This position requires a deep understanding of both BI tools and ERP systems to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions): 

  • Own and maintain the Power BI semantic model sitting on top of the new enterprise standard ERP source system, Microsoft Dynamics Finance and Operations.
  • Measure and monitor performance of the Power BI semantic model, ensuring data refreshes and speed continue to meet the end users’ Service Level Agreement.
  • Respond quickly to issues and ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to integrate the Azure Synapse pipeline with the Power BI semantic model.
  • Ensure a seamless user experience for business users, creatively developing and applying solutions to drive insights.
  • Promote data quality and maintain the Power BI data dictionary and Source to Target mapping files for source systems and DAX measure lineage.
  • Enable and govern self-service analytics for citizen developers across the Enterprise.
  • Use DAX, R, Python or other similar tools as necessary to solve analytics and business intelligence related problems in the course of developing solutions.
  • Develop or modify SQL Views, Power Queries, and Power BI semantic models as needed to meet business needs.

Job Specifications:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with diligence and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, discuss and document complex data models
  • Demonstrated ability to develop complex Business Intelligence measures that can be maintained easily by users.
  • Ability to foster teamwork
  • Ability to effectively prioritize, organize work and execute work in matrixed, complex environments
  • Strong written and oral communication including presentation skills
  • Ability to express highly technical topics in user-friendly way
  • Ability to investigate data and technical issues and communicate them effectively
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally

Required Education and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, business analytics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, computer science or similar degrees
  • BI Front End Development: 3-5 years or more experience in business intelligence dashboard, visualization, and reporting development in Power BI (preferred), Tableau, etc.
  • Data Modeling: 1-3 years or more experience with relational databases and building Business Intelligence data models (Power BI semantic models, preferred)
  • ERP Systems Experience: Strong knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, InforXA, Microsoft Dynamics F&O (preferred), preferably within a manufacturing environment, including areas such as finance, supply chain, sales, inventory etc.
  • Coding and Scripting: Proficient in SQL, DAX, Python (preferred), R (preferred)
  • Agile and CI/CD framework: Experience working within Agile CI/CD frameworks and code source control i.e. GIT Hub
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and present findings.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and optimize BI solutions.

Preferred Experience:

  • Manufacturing experience: Highly preferred.
  • Data Engineering: Experience working with data warehousing, ETL processes, and data pipelines - Azure Synapse Analytics, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory a plus.
  • Data Science: Experience with building and/or integrating with predictive analytics, machine learning, and Artificial Intelligence
  • BI Data Modeling Tools: Power Query, Visual Studio, DAX Studio, Tabular Editor
  • Microsoft Dynamics F&O and CE: Direct experience working with Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations (F&O) and Customer Engagement (CE).

Supervisory/Responsibility:

This team member is an individual contributor.

Work Environment:

This is an office position at the corporate office. 

Position Type:

This is a regular, full-time position with the understanding that a regular workweek will require extended days and hours as needed to meet business needs.

Travel:

Occasional domestic and/or global travel may be required for this position.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of the those performed in the job duties.  The team member sits at a desk and uses a computer for prolonged periods of time.  Performing the role frequently uses close vision, speech, hearing, and dexterity to operate office equipment.  The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
