ABOUT THE ROLE

The data analysis specialist will bring technical expertise to ensure the quality and accuracy of the customer journey pipeline data,  process, design, and present it in ways that offer insights to support ALU in making better decisions.

They will report on the full life cycle analysis of our pipeline. They will identify patterns and gaps through deep analysis of our data and act as an advisor on how we can best draw insights from our data  as well as measure the success of our initiatives. They are able to work independently with minimal supervision within a cohesive and collaborative team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with management to prioritise business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Build dashboards and reports in Salesforce, Tableau, Data Studio and other reporting tools. Establish and maintain standard reporting formats across intakes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on data analysis.
  • Measure and report on KPIs in marketing and admissions for the Grow vertical and Executive Committee.
  • Assist with market research projects.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data reported.
  • Work closely with marketing, admissions and technology to support their data requests. Support other data requests as requested. 
  • Other duties in respect of the Company as may be reasonably assigned by your team manager

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • At least 2 years of experience.
  • BS in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics or other relevant fields or professional certifications.
  • Proven working experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages e.g. (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL etc), programming (XML, Javascript, or ETL frameworks)
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS etc)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings with ability to use tools such as Tableau, SalesForce CRM Analytics and Data Studio to package and present patterns and insights
  •  Extremely detail-oriented and can explain large amounts of information in a simple, organised manner.
