Analytics Engineer I

SWIVEL is seeking a talented individual to work with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and BI Developers to deliver data driven solutions that impact business performance, enhance business decisions, and support the overall data strategy of the organization. The Analytics Engineer will leverage Snowflake, DBT, and Omni to develop consumption and semantic models, manage dbt pipelines, leverage data governance best practices, and optimize SQL/Python scripts to enable the organization to increase speed to insight, develop machine learning models, and self-service BI capabilities. This role will also support various data initiatives to provide quick, accurate, and governed data solutions.

Essential duties include the following:
- Improves and maintains the infrastructure in our data stack, which includes Snowflake, AWS, Fivetran, dbt +, and Omni.
- Works with business stakeholders to define, establish, and measure KPI’s and metrics
- Coaches peers on engineering best practices, prototype new data tooling, and develop resources that enhance developer experience.
- Development and deployment of business-driven consumption and semantic models for Data Analytics, Data Science, and BI Development use cases.
- Ensures a high level of quality, performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness in our data stack as we scale.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of documentation, governance, security and best practices.
- Clears and directs communication skills about complex, technical topics.
- Tracks record of working autonomously with organizational and time management skills.
Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience.
- One to two (1-2) years of experience in data model development and best practices across various engineering tools.
- Experience communicating results of analysis to technical and non-technical leadership teams to influence strategy.
- Strong understanding and ability to interpret ambiguity with minimal direction.
- Excellent and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in various data specific languages (Python, SQL, Jinja, etc.).
- Ability to make decisions and recommendations with minimal consultation.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. of files, supplies, documents, or other related items.
