Post-Doctoral Associate
New York
New York University
Description
The Microbiome & Disease Ecology Lab (MiDEL) at NYU is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Postdoctoral Associate to join our dynamic, interdisciplinary team. Our work explores the role of the vaginal microbiome and placental hormones in shaping pregnancy outcomes, with a global comparative focus on Ghanaian and U.S. cohorts. We use metagenomics, metabolomics, hormonal profiling, and machine learning to identify mechanisms and biomarkers underlying preterm birth and other adverse reproductive outcomes, particularly in underserved populations.
This position is ideal for a candidate with strong interests in reproductive biology, microbiome science, global health equity, and interdisciplinary translational research. The postdoc will contribute to NIH-funded projects examining the intersection of the microbiome, endocrine systems, and maternal health disparities.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $xx,xxx- $xx,xxx. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
