Job Description:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Data Product Operations to lead the day-to-day monitoring, support, and enhancement lifecycle of data products delivered through our TDS data platform. This leadership role combines data subject matter expertise with technical skills to provide the operational oversight. This role will also be ensuring the data products strategy alignment with the TDS's business objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in capital markets data, data product management/support and quality assurance, coupled with the ability to lead a small team and drive operational excellence while communicating effectively across business and technology stakeholders.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

CUSTOMER

  • Lead or provide expertise to the team in defining and managing detailed system design for data integration processes or data marts/ warehouse builds or extensions
  • Provide leadership and expertise within this specialized field and/or other data & analytics functions that support business needs.
  • Lead development or adoption of data warehouse / big data environments by directing / collaborating with stakeholders on requirements and implementation approaches
  • Partner with technology to troubleshoot issues, manage capacity, and plan for the optimization and expansion of environments
  • Coordinate with project managers and resource manager to establish project plan and necessary resources

SHAREHOLDER

  • Lead on complex analysis in an evolving data environment and gather, analyze, document and maintain all data requirements related to the business applications, interfaces, and reporting environments in different kinds of data mapsĀ Ā 
  • Apply standards and best practices to ensure that the application’s data is accurate, complete, current, understandable, and accessible
  • Work with data owners to define and manage data dictionary / catalog for respective data platforms, systems / servers / applications
  • Manage and coordinate efforts of data modelers, data warehouse/data integration developers, and data management process in database usage and data warehousing
  • Implement, maintain and enhance Enterprise Data Governance related policies, in alignment with TD's Enterprise standards
  • Provide thought leadership and insights on emerging data information management solutions or frameworks for business purposes
  • Ensure respective programs / policies / practices are well managed, meets business needs, complies with internal and external requirements, and aligns with business priorities
  • Provide leadership in cross-functional / enterprise / initiatives as a top expert, helping to identify risk / provide guidance for complex situations across multiple domains or projects
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts
  • Maintain a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

BREADTH & DEPTH

  • Expert knowledge of the business and respective technical environment/ tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organizational issues
  • Recognized as top level expert and requires significant in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in their in a complex field and knowledge of broader related areas
  • Requires strong development background and a blend of skills in big data technologies, database technologies, data integration tools, production support and business acumen
  • Senior specialist providing advisory services to executives, business segment leaders and governs the requirements for own work
  • Anticipates emerging business trends and associated risks as a basis for recommending large-scale technical, functional or operational improvements
  • Advises on execution strategy and leads the development and deployment of functional programs or initiatives within their own field or across multiple specialties
  • Solves unique and ambiguous problems with broad impact;
  • Requires innovative thinking to develop new solutions
  • Engages stakeholders to act; serves as a source of expert advice, influences change; frames information in a broader organizational context
  • Provides leadership guidance, makes recommendations and collaborates with business to ensure solutions meets the business needs on a complex project or program
  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for project/program complex requirements related issues at all levels
  • Generally reports to an executive

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate and/or
  • 10+ years of relevant experience from a business administration, statistical, mathematical, scientific or financial background

KEY RESPONSIBILITES

1. Platform Operations & BAU Oversight

  • Own the daily operations of data products, ensuring their stability, performance, and accuracy across the Capital Markets data platform.
  • Proactively monitor key pipelines, remediate the data issues, and implement preventative measures to reduce them.
  • Oversee the data quality investigations, user inquiries, and production fixes in coordination with engineering and governance teams.

2. Release & Change Management

  • Coordinate the release lifecycle for enhancements, bug fixes, and new data capabilities.
  • Coordinate the new product deployments with products delivery team
  • Ensure proper planning, communication, and validation before and after production deployments.
  • Maintain change logs, risk registers, and issue tracking for all BAU updates.

3. Team Leadership & People Management

  • Lead and mentor a small team of analysts/operations specialists.
  • Establish clear goals, coach team members, and foster a high-performance culture.
  • Partner with engineering, product development, and data management teams to improve service delivery and knowledge sharing.

4. Stakeholder & Data Strategy Communication

  • Serve as the operational face of the data platform for business users, product owners, and senior leaders.
  • Translate operational insights into strategic input for product and data strategy.
  • Communicate status, risks, and KPIs clearly to business stakeholders, helping align delivery with business priorities.

5. Continuous Improvement & Platform Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to automate monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes.
  • Contribute to the platform roadmap by representing operational pain points and enhancement needs.
  • Help shape operational playbooks, runbooks, and KPIs to support data reliability and quality.
