Application & Reporting Systems Engineer

We are seeking a versatile and solution-oriented Application & Reporting Systems Engineer to join our team. This hybrid role focuses on designing and developing business applications and reporting systems that enhance operational efficiency and enable data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to build tools that improve visibility, streamline processes, and support strategic initiatives—with a strong emphasis on user experience and visual design.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain business applications using platforms like Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI), UI Bakery, or similar tools.
• Develop and maintain visually compelling, user-friendly dashboards and reporting systems for internal stakeholders and external customers.
• Apply UI/UX best practices to ensure applications and dashboards are intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent.
• Design and implement data models and reporting solutions that integrate with existing systems and databases.
• Conduct regular testing and validation of applications and reporting systems to ensure accuracy, performance, and security.
• Collaborate with IT, data, and business teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored solutions.
• Ensure compliance with data governance standards and maintain data integrity across systems.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on application interfaces and reporting tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications and reporting systems.

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience in application development or reporting systems engineering.
• Proficiency with low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, UI Bakery) and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Strong technical skills in SQL, data modeling, REST APIs, JSON, and scripting (e.g., JavaScript, Python).
• Demonstrated experience in UI/UX design principles, with a portfolio of clean, user-friendly dashboards or applications.
• Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with data governance and compliance standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Optional requirements:

• Experience in a large-scale retail or eCommerce environment.
• Node.js experience preferred.
• Knowledge of edge security practices such as WAF configuration, bot protection, or TLS management.
• Experience with performance tuning and synthetic monitoring.
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Cloud Architect).
