Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an Kaitātari Tiaki Rawa - Asset Data Analyst to join the Asset Management team, a team within Property Services. Asset Management’s central aim is to effectively manage the institution’s academic property portfolio. By developing and maintaining accurate property information we enable better long-term estate planning and property management. The information is used to prioritise and deliver property and infrastructure renewal across our campuses and to mitigate asset failure risk.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure Academic and Student Living asset data and information is accurate and up to date, to ensure clarity of ownership, maintenance responsibilities, and data integrity to support effective asset management and decision making.
- Effectively implement and maintain asset management processes by co-ordinating documentation, supporting workflow improvements and ensuring accurate undertaking of planning and administrative tasks to improve asset data integrity.
- Creation of comprehensive, data-driven insights and reports that support informed decision-making, ensure compliance with audits and benchmarks, and facilitate effective stakeholder collaboration and communication.

You will have the following skills and experience:
- You will be a motivated, customer-focused individual who can take the initiative, provide excellent administration and policy compliance.
- You will be a highly organised self-starter and natural relationship builder, who relishes working autonomously as well as contributing positively to a high performing team.
- Have a sound knowledge of and experience in asset management planning, building construction, and/or Asset Management.
- The ability to understand and manage large complex databases, ideally with scenario planning skills.
- Demonstrable ability to use information for planning and reporting purposes.
- Relevant experience and knowledge of all areas of Asset management or a tertiary qualification in Property, Construction, Asset Management, Estates Management, Building Services, or an appropriate technical trade qualification.
Key requirements:
- Tertiary qualification or a minimum of 2 years’ experience in asset management or data analytics.
- Experience as an analyst within a complex fast paced environment.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience in planning and managing administrative processes.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Power BI and Excel.
