Job Description SummaryAs the AI Product Owner for PFUS, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between AI science and production, ensuring the seamless development, integration and deployment of AI models into the PFUS products. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the workflows necessary to optimize, package, deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning models at scale.

Job Description

Peripheral Focused Ultrasound (PFUS) is a novel & emerging technology that leverages ultrasound to specifically regulate metabolic function in the body to support the treatment of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and obesity.  We are an industry leader in medical ultrasound in the market, and you will be contributing to cutting-edge innovations that shape the future of healthcare. Your responsibilities will include:

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Model Deployment and Integration: Collaborate with AI scientists to optimize, package and deploy machine learning models into production environments efficiently and reliably.
  • Infrastructure Design and Maintenance: Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust infrastructure for model deployment, monitoring, and management. This includes containerization, orchestration, and automation of deployment pipelines.
  • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for automated model training, testing, and deployment.
  • Model Monitoring and Performance Optimization: Develop monitoring and alerting systems to track the performance of deployed models and identify anomalies or degradation in real-time. Implement strategies for model retraining and optimization.
  • Data Management and Version Control: Establish processes and tools for managing data pipelines, versioning datasets, and tracking changes in model configurations and dependencies.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure the security and compliance of deployed models and associated data. Implement best practices for data privacy, access control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Requirements & Specifications: Author software requirements and design specifications, acting as a feature lead by managing scheduling, estimating efforts, and overseeing implementation.
  • Testing & Verification: Develop and execute unit, integration, and system tests to validate design and implementation throughout development cycles.
  • Regulatory Clearance: Work with regulatory teams towards validation and clearance of AI tools.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Document deployment processes, infrastructure configurations, and best practices. Provide guidance and support to other team members on MLOps practices and tools.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams of clinical experts, including AI scientists and business stakeholders. Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical audiences.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Software Engineering.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python.
  • Experience with machine learning frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, ONNX, scikit-learn).

Desired Characteristics / Technical Characteristics

  • Knowledge of Image processing libraries in Python such a sitk and openCV.
  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms
  • Understanding of Image and Signal processing concepts and algorithms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver.
  • Regulated Standards Compliance: Proven experience in developing software according to regulated standards for the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) within the Medical Device industry.
  • Agile Methodologies & Software Quality Systems: Familiarity with Agile software development practices and software quality systems.
  • Software Configuration Management: Experience with Software Configuration Management tools such as Perforce and Git.
  • Adaptability: Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Must be willing to work onsite at least 3 days a week
