What youâll do â& Who you areÂ
We are looking for a highly skilled (Senior) Data / Analytics Engineer (d/f/m) to become part of the mobile.de Data Engineering team.
Our team transforms the way mobile.de works with data by guiding other teams, driving standards and providing easy access to high-quality & unified data for all our colleagues. By joining us you will help drive faster, better decision making and create products that bring more value to our customers. Your responsibilities:
Collaborate with our Strategic Analytics Team to understand their data needs and how to best meet them
Design and build a fast-access, integrative cloud-based Business Intelligence solution together with our teamâs engineersÂ
Assemble and understand the requirements of Business Analysts and Senior Management and translate them into data access layers to enable data access in a fast and easy way.
Develop a deep understanding of mobile.deâs business model, the automotive marketplace ecosystem, and the strategic priorities of a private equity-owned company.
Decide together with data and analytics teams on our strategy, initiatives, and prioritisation and create a fluid, end-to-end vision of how data will flow through our organisation
Educate, train and support users to empower them to use data and tools in the best way for insights generation and decision making
Work in a diverse environment that leverages state-of-the-art technologies from on-premise and cloud-based platforms
Be part of and help grow our diverse and multicultural Data and Analytics Team
Your profile:
You have 5+ years of demonstrated ability in a BI Engineer, Data Warehouse /Modelling Expert or similar role with business sense and a focus on analytics requirements
Basic understanding of financial and strategic concepts, particularly in the context of private equity-backed companies.
Ability to think critically and creatively, offering alternative solutions to strategic challenges.
Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple ad-hoc requests in a fast-paced environment.
Advanced data industry knowledge and understanding how data is collected, analysed and utilised
Experience with BI tools like Looker, Tableau, Thoughtspot or similar.
Advanced SQL knowledge
Experience with Python, Scala or Java is a plus
Experience with cloud data warehouses like BigQuery, Snowflake or Redshift
Creative problem solver who approaches high-level data challenges with a clear eye on what is important and employs the right approach/method to fulfil the requirements of your customers
Effective communicator who carefully listens to their stakeholders to come up with the best data design and be able to explain complex concepts to non-technical colleagues
What will make you stand out:
Cloud environments are not scary for you, we work in GCP
Youâve been working with DBT and Airflow and have experience with ingesting data from external sources
Quantitative and qualitative data analysis experience with demonstrated impact to a business, a track record of creative problem solving and the desire to create and build new processes
Strong experience with Data Modelling from conceptualization to database optimization (e.g. Star Schema, Data Vault)
Knowledge of data visualisation, dashboarding and exploration tools (e.g. Looker)
Prior experience in a consultancy environment, with exposure to strategic projects and cross-functional collaboration.
