The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.Responsibilities:
Management and oversight
- Establishing and developing the Reference Data Management teams and its participation in the Firm’s Business strategy including setting objectives budgets and business plans and managing costs within these Departments;
- Leading, directing, controlling and managing the staff within the Reference Data Management department to ensure that they (i) understand their responsibilities and duties applicable to their roles, (ii) comply with the Firm’s policies and procedures and (iii) conduct themselves in a way which is commensurate with the Firm’s values;
- Maintaining and enhancing good working relationships with stakeholders, including business and control / infrastructure teams, auditors, regulators, local management and staff of the IDM function globally;
- Leading projects and system enhancements as required, ensuring effective control and continuous process improvement;
- Develop the skills and abilities of all team members, resulting in optimization of job performance for local talent;
- Identification, escalation and resolution of issues regarding the department and related activities;
- Ensure adherence to Finance Policies and Procedures and that said documents are updated in accordance with review schedules and remain relevant in the context of business/market events;
- Ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and accounting standards;
- Documentation of control activities and methodologies undertaken in respect of the above responsibilities to a standard sufficient to ensure hand over of tasks and auditability of results and including the management of operational risks;
- Conducting analysis in support of the Finance function, whether through additional ad hoc tasks or presentation of written materials;
Reference Data Management
- Support all lines of business for reference data management (Market, Counterparty, Instrument and Organizational Data)
- Review and analyze referential data information from golden source (i.e. EDM) to downstream systems (i.e. Murex, Impact, Raptor & AMS), evaluate the accuracy of the information and feeds, and propose and implement enhancements as required.
- Maintain and enhance the data lifecycle to ensure data accuracy and completeness of information used in reporting
- Develop and maintain robust procedures related to data set up and distribution
- Maintain close working relationships with Front Office, Operations, Risk, Audit, Compliance and Regulatory departments to ensure needs and regulations are met.
Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with the Firm’s internal risk and compliance requirements, controls and procedures including but not limited to:
- Conduct yourself at all times in a way which is commensurate with the Firm’s values and ensure that the needs of the Firm’s clients and the integrity of the market are placed at the heart of the carrying out of your duties and ensure all staff under your responsibility are conducting themselves as industry professionals and in accordance with policy guidelines;
- Take reasonable measures to remain aware of key market and regulatory developments and, where necessary, attend training in this regard;
- Comply with, the Company’s policies and procedures as well as all rules, laws and regulatory requirements emanating from any of the regulatory authorities to which the Firm is subject;
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 5 years of experience in data governance, data quality, data management or related fields
- Strong knowledge of data governance principles, frameworks, methodologies and tools.
- Experience in coordinating and facilitating data governance activities and forums.
- Experience in working with data policies, standards, procedures, and controls
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
The typical base pay range for this role is between $81K - $134K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
