- Lead the optimization of large-scale LLMs and deep learning architectures for biomedical research.
- Design and deploy high-performance AI systems using GPUs and hardware accelerators.
- Interact and collaborate with large tech AI companies, Pharma AI/IT groups, and Academic collaborators.
- Build and optimize scalable training and inference pipelines for structured and unstructured biomedical data.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary researchers, engineers, and domain scientists across Washington University and national/international collaborators.
- Publish research in top-tier venues and contribute to open-source scientific software where applicable.
- Stay abreast of developments in AI, machine learning, and biomedical applications.
- Develop foundational AI models with semantic reasoning, knowledge integration, and domain adaptation capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with biomedical datasets or scientific literature analysis.
- Publications in AI/ML conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ACL) or biomedical informatics.
- Experience with knowledge graphs, LLM, agentic systems.
- Understanding of distributed training (e.g., DeepSpeed, FSDP, Ray, or MPI-based systems).
- Familiarity with GPU-accelerated computing (e.g., CUDA, NVIDIA ecosystem).
