CHN is looking for individuals who are committed to supporting our shared goal of strengthening and enhancing our awareness and commitment to advancing the cause of health equity in our organization.
The Epic Data Analyst is responsible for the intake, management, and delivery of Epic related reporting requests for a designated affiliate customer, serving as the main point of contact for the customer, as well as the conduit between other members of the CHN Business Intelligence Team and other associated organizations, including Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Better Health, the clinical information system vendor.

Essential Functions

  • Work with the affiliate in conjunction with the Business Intelligence team customer to determine their Epic data and reporting requirements
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, define metrics, and ensure data solutions meet user needs
  • Stay current with Epic upgrades and understand CHN-specific reporting capabilities
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data from Epic to support system navigation operations, quality improvement, and identify reporting gaps
  • Document report specifications, data definitions, and business rules in accordance with internal data governance policies
  • Monitor and maintain the accuracy, consistency, and performance of Epic reports and dashboards
  • Identify and integrate supplemental reporting sources and capabilities
  • Initiate and participate with other members of the Business Intelligence group in the development of new data sets
  • Complete data requests using the appropriate reporting tools (CHN BI, Epic, BetterHealth, etc.)
  • Translate data for the client from the source into a final deliverable
  • Participate in reporting projects of the Business Intelligence Group
  • Assist users with training and troubleshooting for the affiliate customer
  • Ensure all reporting complies with HIPAA and other data privacy and security standards
  • Ensures compliance with all CHN and affiliate policies, as well as all state and federal regulations
  • Demonstrates a commitment to CHN and Planned Parenthood’s mission related to health equity, especially centering racial equity, and deep sense of accountability to community
  • Demonstrates a commitment to learning about and enhancing practices related to racial equity and the impact of structural racism on healthcare systems
  • Provides positive and development feedback and accountability related to practices including, but not limited to, equity

Qualifications and Experience (Required)

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in Epic system analysis, maintenance, and support
  • At least 6 months of Epic certification training in applicable modules and subsequent experience successfully applying knowledge to resolving routine issues: Cogito, Clarity/Workbench, Caboodle/Slicer Dicer
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience post-EPIC certification
  • Proficiency in requirements and data gathering techniques and documentation of methodology and sources
  • Proficiency with Workbench, Slicer Dicer
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new tools
  • Prior experience building SQL reports and working in Power BI
  • Experience with Querying Clarity, Caboodle, and Power BI
  • Communicate flawlessly with clients on various types of projects
  • Knowledge of competitive or state-of-the-art analytic and reporting services
  • High degree of experience applying advanced statistical and/or econometric models in health care analytics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft software (Excel, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a customer-centric service approach in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate and interact with all levels within and outside of CHN if necessary
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-up; and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated dedication to Planned Parenthood’s mission, vision, and values
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications and Experience (Preferred)

  • Advanced knowledge of industry standards and practices in descriptive/predictive analytics and reporting concepts
  • Advanced degree in mathematics, economics, or statistics
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical analyses including opportunity assessments, clinical and financial risk tracking, trend identification and predictive modeling exercises
  • Interpretation of analytic findings to both the internal executive team as well as external clients using clear and concise methods and presentation media
  • Willingness to travel in accordance with the needs of the position, as outlined in the essential functions. Compliance with all CHN travel policies, including safety guidelines while operating a personal vehicle
