Are you our next Head of Data?

Join us at Kivra! We're looking for someone with a passion for data, a love for solving complex problems, and who thrives in agile development environments. We've grown tremendously and are looking for a Head of Data who, together with a team of motivated data professionals, will shape the future of data at Kivra!

At Kivra, we're building services that connect over 6 million people by providing a safe and accessible digital infrastructure that everyone in Sweden can trust and use. At the same time, we're saving trees, reducing the paper that's printed and transported by providing a better digital alternative to physical paper communication.

What you'll be doing

You’ll join Kivra's Data Platform Team as our Head of Data, where you’re directly responsible to lead, mentor, and manage a team of talented data engineers and analytics engineers. You’ll define the roadmap for the team and ensure the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable data solutions. As part of the Platform Engineering Organization, you’ll drive the vision for how to develop our data platform following platform engineering principles and you’ll work to support the smooth collaboration and communication of all data professionals at Kivra. You'll work in close collaboration with technical leads, product leads, and other stakeholders across the organization. In your new role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers and analytics engineers

  • Foster a culture of growth and collaboration in the data function, across engineering and analytics

  • Define and execute the data product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs

  • Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of our data platform, including data pipelines, data warehouse, data services, and reporting tools

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data governance, data quality, and data security

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs, translate them into actionable data solutions, and manage cross-team projects

  • Participate in strategic discussions about Kivra's overall data architecture and technology stack

  • Evaluate and integrate new data technologies to enhance our capabilities and efficiency

Our data stack is built on Google Cloud Platform. Tools and technologies we're using include BigQuery, Python, SQL, Kafka, Postgres, Airflow (managed by Astronomer), Tableau, Hex, Grafana, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub, and more.

Who we're looking for

Knowledge is important, but so is attitude! Kivra's culture is strongly influenced by kindness, drive, and the willingness to produce high-quality work. How you fit in with your team is super important for us – we thrive on being nice and helpful and always encourage growth.

We think that you:

  • Are a humble leader with a passion for building robust and impactful data solutions

  • Have experience leading and mentoring technical teams, ideally in a data-focused role

  • Have a proven understanding of data engineering principles and best practices

  • Are comfortable defining product strategy and communicating it effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Have experience in operational management of data platforms and tools in production environments

  • Are a coach who guides less experienced team members and analysts in improving their skills

  • Have an interest in data governance, data quality, and data security, and experience with working with GDPR in data platforms

We also value:

  • Working experience as a data engineer, analytics engineer, software developer, or similar role

Additional information

This role is full-time and our office is based in Stockholm. We encourage in-office collaboration and see that you also want to work on-site approximately 60% of the time. Fluency in English is required and fluency in Swedish is a plus but not required. Unfortunately, we are not able to sponsor new work permits, but are able to sponsor/renew existing work permits! The interview process will begin week 32.

We Offer

Kivra offers a role in a caring and committed team, in a company that is growing and continuously innovating. You’ll join a warm and friendly culture that thrives on collaboration and teamwork.
