This role offers a foundational opportunity for an individual looking to develop core competencies in financial data management and analysis within a university setting.
Duties
- On a daily and ad hoc basis, queries and reports enrollment and tuition revenue data by school and program with accuracy and clarity. In consultation with the Senior Financial Analyst in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Budget Managers of each school, assists in the development and maintenance of enrollment projection models and tuition revenue forecast reports.
- In close coordination with the Department of Financial Planning and Analysis, provide lead technical support of the University's planning and budgeting system (Oracle PBCS).
- Utilizing Oracle-based software system for student administration, assists with data collection for various internal and external data requests. Performs data validation and reconciliation across various finance and student information systems.
- Assists in trend analysis that provides insights into tuition revenue planning strategies by integrating historical admissions, enrollment, and student financial data. Researches, improves, and maintains statistical models for the annual tuition pricing project and budget planning process.
- Supports other administrative tasks within the CFO suite. Assists with various project tracking, record keeping, and communication of updates. Archives and maintains an organized record of historical data, reports and presentations in local and network drives.
- Monitors headlines and news reports within the Higher Education industry. Assists with data collection for benchmarking analysis as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Exceptional data analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to analyze and visualize data.
- Excellent critical thinking skills; good written and oral communication skills; ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in data handling and reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data manipulation.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Preferred:
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience working with student data in a higher education setting.
- Knowledge of SQL for data querying and extraction, understanding of statistical concepts as applied to data analysis.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle PeopleSoft Student Administration system or other large-scale Student Information Systems.
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with or exposure to Oracle PeopleSoft (ERP) and Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud Services (PBCS) (EPM) systems.

This is a Regular, Nonexempt, 40 hour per week position that may be eligible for remote or hybrid work in accordance with the University Policy Manual.
Expected Pay Range: $28.12 - $31.25 per hour
The above pay range reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this position at time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on relevant factors such as work experience, market conditions, education/training, and skill level. In addition to base pay, Pepperdine offers a robust and highly competitive benefits package.
